This clearly violates the ELEKTRA RULE - only JB can write/draw ALPHA FLIGHT!

That didn’t turn out so well for Frank, if you’ll remember.

I think of it as the Elektra rule too, Marc; however,
for clarification, it includes the following provisions.

i. You can only kill a character you created.

ii. The only person who can resurrect a character is the
person who killed him or her.

But it raises the question: if you plan to resurrect a character, why kill her in the first place? Aren't there storytellers good enough to make the "death" slightly ambiguous? My gosh, Mr. Byrne killed Dr. Doom - DESTROYED HIS BODY ONSCREEN - and STILL found a way to bring him back!

Did you say Puck...and Wolverine?! When did he become a part of the Affair of the Brass Bishop?!

That's right. You know how this goes. The Powers That Be will find a way to squeeze him and/or Deadpool into anything!

I would have liked a Limited Series, perhaps something as "Spider-Man and Alpha Flight" in the same way as "X-Men and Spider-Man" or "Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four" (both by Christos Gage and Mario Alberti). The main villain could be the Master and it could revisit different Alpha Flight eras: "First Flight" era from AF Special (1992), Byrne's AF era (pre-AF #12), Mantlo/Lee's AF era (post-AF #50) and finally perhaps Lobdell/Morgan's AF era (post-AF #100).

I suspect that Wolverine and Deadpool will need to be on hand to help Puck deal with not just the Brass Bishop, but also his cohorts, the Giant Rat of Sumatra and Wilson, the Notorious Canary Trainer.

I think you are thinking about trademark protection. The two are somewhat similar,  but distinct things. The copyright should be okay. Trademarks are more of a use it or lose it sort of thing.

Again, I think it's trademarks being discussed here. Even if Marvel used the characters in the tale for another title,  that may not be enough to enforce the trademark.  The 1980s CAPTAIN MARVEL specials featuring Monica were printed to secure the trademark,  even though she was a member of the Avengers during the same period.

Thanks for clarifying trademark vs. copyright, Matt!
