Trump tells us about Lincoln:

“Well, I think Lincoln succeeded for numerous reasons. He was a man who was of great intelligence, which most presidents would be. But he was a man of great intelligence, but he was also a man that did something that was a very vital thing to do at that time. Ten years before or 20 years before, what he was doing would never have even been thought possible. So he did something that was a very important thing to do, and especially at that time.”

Well, I’m glad he cleared that up!

Trump's word jumbles are endlessly mind boggling.

There are words there, but they make no sense the way they're put together...

Speaking of no sense...

This blather was uttered and reported widely in the press... before he was elected.

Sounds like an exam answer that the examinee has left blank because they haven't got a clue and then two minutes before the exam ends just written in a load of flannel in the hopes of blagging a point from sheer chutzpah.

He shows signs of dementia when he constantly repeats himself while speaking, but I think a lot of it has to do with him just being uneducated. He doesn't appear to read books or reports.

Well...I feel more enlightened now about Lincoln.

Trump isn't fit to mention Lincoln.

He always sounds like a kid giving a report on a book he didn’t read.

Now he's planning a July 4th speech at the Lincoln Memorial, with a fly-over by Air Force One.

So, apparently, he doesn't even understand how THAT works!

I believe everyone is on the right track here. When 45 is reading from his teleprompter*, he seems competent enough to do that (if he doesn't go too quickly.)

*Teleprompter? Who uses one of THOSE?

But when he gets motivated, or goes off script, or simply seems to have more to say - when he knows nothing about what he's pontificating** - he loses his big boy words. He starts making vague references and nonsensical observations.. I can't imagine how he'll get through the debates this time, even with his well known topic changing.

**And he doesn't know anything, so he's usually fabricating as fast as he can - which explains a lot.

But he constantly reminds me that if he had to pass a basic citizenship test, he would likely fail completely. Not that a lot of us would do much better - but WE ain't POTUS.
