I don't know. I thought at least I'd feel cautiously optimistic, but that did nothing for me. No interest.

My interest here goes into negative numbers.

Meh.  It's like I felt about the recent ALIEN films: there's a ghost of what I liked there (which is what the studio is counting on), but not much soul.  Can't imagine I'll catch this at the theatre.  Probably a rental or, more likely, wait until Netflix or HBO.

The trailer just makes it look like T2: THE NEXT GENERATION. As much as a dud as GENISYS was, at least it tried to do something different with time travel.

Terminator 3 is about the limit of what I can stand, and even then, mostly as a parody of a Terminator film. Salvation and after are dead to me.

The second film began dismantling what the first had established—PotA Syndrome—and it was all downhill from there. Altho I can still enjoy T2, if I’m in the right mood, I have to watch it divorced from the original.

James Cameron (I know he's not directing this one) has proven throughout his career that he retell stories and make them seem exciting and fresh. I will give him the benefit of the doubt.

The last movie should have been the end. Perfect way to wrap up the franchise.

Hollywood will just not let money-making franchises die, no matter how long they've been around.

Vote with your wallets, folks.

-----

The problem is people voting with their wallets is why we get this endless stream of sequels and reboots to old franchises.

A phrase of which I grew very tired, very quickly, after I came online, is “I wanted to see how bad it really was.”

And as I found myself pointing out repeatedly, the Box Office has no way of recognizing this. A dollar is a dollar. So if you see it, you’ve “voted” for it, whatever it is.
