It wasn't one of the selling points of Disney + for me but I've enjoyed both episodes.

Watched the Mandalorian... after the first episode I felt it was a bit boring... hopefully things pick up. I would think any Star Wars style series would leave off with an exciting cliffhanger that would leave you on the edge of your seat... at least I think Lucas would envision this in that way.

Unless that last scene had been spoiled for you Charles, it was enough to bring me back. I know it wasn't an action scene but...

I've loved both episodes so far. Movie level quality...and they know exactly
where to end an episode to make me want to come back. I'm liking that I can't
stream the whole season at once from the get go.

Yeah, I'm loving this series in a bitter-sweet way.  As much as I love the show, all I can do is think about how the movies could have been if these guys had been in charge instead of Kennedy, Abrams, Johnson.

Getting back to the carbonite question, I had a similar gripe that I expressed to my buddy who is way more educated about Star Wars than me.  He pretty much enjoys all of it and is much more forgiving than I am.  But when I told him I thought it was a little strange that they were using the freezing process as a standard practice now he said that in Empire, it wasn't that carbonite freezing hadn't ever been used on humans before but that it hadn't been used at Bespin's facilities before.

Which is reasonable enough but I don't recall the dialogue well enough to know if that's what was actually said in the movie or if he's conflating the movie and the tons of material that he's read on and about Star Wars.

I'm enjoying this series. The first episode was a little slow to me, but I liked the payoff at the end. The second episode was paced better, I think. Overall, a good story in the Star Wars Universe. I sure am curious about where this is going, and I also like that they only drop an episode a week.

I have long thought Dave Filoni should be given the reigns to Star Wars proper.
This series just cements that thought for me.
This, & Watchmen, are my must see TV @ the moment.

If Filoni becomes the Kevin Feige of Star Wars I'm all for it. He's shown he can work within the framework of Star Wars and move things forward in interesting ways. The Mandalorian and Rebels have been some of the best Star Wars in recent years. Both were better than the current trilogy for example.

I want a Filoni lead movie trilogy. I think we'd get a very interesting take on the Star Wars universe.

Maybe someone can edit the subject to include spoilers?

I had to go back and re-read summaries of the backstory of the Mandalorians as depicted in the Clone Wars cartoon.  It re-wrote the EU version of the story considerably.

Good idea guys - I've added a SPOILER warning, so for those who aren't up to
speed on the episodes, you have been warned!
