Ron Frenz did a two hour interview on the Cartoonist Kayfabe channel and there is quite a bit of comic book industry history in the interview. I listened to it while I worked today and thought there were some very good stories and anecdotes from the third Buscema brother about his start in comics, what he thinks about comic art, the speculator bubble, etc. There is some very good first hand recounting of the comic industry.

I check out Ron Frenz's latest artwork from time to time on Facebook. He really does have a great, classic style I enjoy. I know he wears his influences on his sleeve, but it's fantastic work.

As for being a third Buscema brother, that is not meant to be taken literally. Heck, Frenz is young enough to be John or Sal's son.

Interesting interview, thanks for sharing. I liked the bit where he was talking about the specific alchemy of comics, how it engages some kind of involvement on the your part as the reader to interpret or fill in around what you are seeing on the page. Also liked his wording when talked about comics being very elastic as a medium, but Lee/Kirby hitting a sweetspot.

Have I been mispronouncing that for all these years?
