I think Cyclops transfixing Xavier with a glare would be pretty difficult to accomplish, so perhaps we're lucky that scene never happened.

If I'd been Phoenix and there was a planet of broiled asparagus people I'm thinking, hmmm, what's for afters? :^D

All this conspiracy-like rhetoric coming from that loon on FB is just baffling to me. What is he trying to prove... Is he wanting to expose JB as a liar? I don't get his angle, here. He spends all this energy to prove that there can be discrepancies when creative teams try to recall events in future interviews and discussions? Yeah... you can do that with any collaborative efforts. Doesn't mean there's some grande scheme take took place. And plots and stories evolve all the time from the initial conception.

It's so bizarre... this guy's fixation on such a level.

I've read many, many interviews with JB and the other people involved, including some of the interviews this guy quotes from, and I never thought anyone was trying to cover up anything.

As for the so-called "big reveal"... what a nothing burger!

All I’m getting from this is Claremont typed out plots AFTER he and JB discussed things on the phone. I guess that this is confusing to modern fans who think everything is done full script and don’t understand the Marvel Method?

I guess he's saying the creative team had a plan to kill Phoenix... and then they decided against it... and then Shooter had story notes, and in reaction to those notes, the creative team decided it was best to kill her after all. And he's saying the creative team isn't admitting the ORIGINAL plan was to kill Phoenix. And he's exposing all of this by showing us the original plots.

I think? Haha I don't know!

As expected, the mainstream media is covering this up - not a single mention of this in any of the major newspapers or TV shows today.

That was the most spectacular conspiracy reveal I’ve ever seen.

I had a bit of back & forth with him a few days ago.
I asked if he was saying the whole Shooter thing of lobotomising Jean was false & he said no, but there was a plan to kill her before that. The original plan was to kill Jean he says.

So, yes, his big revelation is that Jean was always meant to die - @ the end of the battle between Charles & Jean. He says that without the words, what was drawn was the Phoenix force dissipating & then Jean dissipates after that. But she had not gone & destroyed a star or planet, so there was no real justification for her to die.

But that big ‘reveal’, he’s been talking about, or @ least mentioning, for days if not weeks. So it’s kind of a damp squib.

So, I guess it’s this:
Originally Jean was to die, but with no justification
Changed to Jean destroys a star in a written plot, along with reduction to child status
JB adds a populated planet, still with child status
Shooter says lobotomise & torture
JB says kill her

So I guess he’s saying the end result just went full circle.
But you know what? Stories go through drafts. Changes are made.
This isn’t as big as I think he thinks it is, & nor is it worth this weeks of daily posts.
But then I guess we keep talking about it & legitimising it, so feeding the end result he wants.
I’m going to stop now

I think there's a need for some context, this story-line was done in the late 70s there was no internet, only the mail and long-distance phone-calls.

Here's an example of just how busy JB was in those days, 3 books a month, I think there was little time to wait for written plots posted thru the snail-mail of the day.

I have a hand-written plot and page-count notes for X-Men 131-136 in the sketch-book I have, which I can scan & post if JB is okay with that.

I’d love to see that, Cory, if JB is cool with you posting it!
