There's something deeply reassuring about the very existence of the Razzies. That said, I do wish their voters would not focus so narrowly on certain films and instead more arduously seek out the rottenness and lack of quality around them. There was more to avoid this year than just HOLMES AND WATSON.

My problem with "worst of the year" lists is that they are most often really just lists of the most popularly known bad movies.

About the Razzie's choice for "Worst Actor": Donald Trump... Sadly, he's not acting.

They nominated Shelley Duvall for her role in The Shining, which to me is bizarre. She was perfect in the role. A lot of their nominations feel petty.

Funny that you should mention that, Neil. I was reading about the Shining just a few weeks back and came across the fact that Shelley Duvall had been nominated for a Razzie, as you say.

That was a bad decision, but even worse -- and firmly into the crazy territory -- was the fact that Kubrick was nominated for the Razzie for worst director! Kubrick's films had a tendency to be under-appreciated at the time of release, but that is just ridiculous.

Unfortunate. I usually love Melissa McCarthy. Admittedly, I didn't see those movies. Movie ticket prices in NYC are highway robbery.

Life of the Party wasn't that bad. Wasn't great, either, but not Razzie bad.

This “award” is obnoxious imho

No one wants to make a bad film. Just feels like picking on people who failed.
