We just watched “The Traveler” as well. Quite a boring episode.

I think making these episodes longer than 30 minutes was another mistake. Did they not learn anything from season 4 of the original series?

And the season ends with the most tedious, pointless, offensive episode of the lot.

We bailed on this after 4-5 episodes.

I like eerie anthology shows as a genre, and I thought it might get better. But when they did a couple of episodes that got away from the sledgehammer messaging*, they were just very bad attempts at doing the Twilight Zone.

*I know Rod did that himself often enough, but he didn't do it every single week. There were plenty of episodes which played on universal themes and the nature of reality - though the new series had a try at the latter this week, and the result was a train wreck.

On what I have seen so far, I think the major issues are
the length and the pacing. Stories feel like they are
dragged to fit the time slot allocated and it hurts
them.
A good story with a pacing problem becomes a "meh."; a
bad one becomes a stinker.
The traveler, for example, could have been so much more
efficient if it had been shorter, removing a lot of the
unnecessary stuffs.

Just watching it over here in the UK on Sy-Fy, it looks
gorgeoous, but i find it slow, boring and the "twists"
are very meh! I doubt i will see it through.

Letting the story arc dictate the length of the segment was one of the great strengths of the 80's incarnation.  The great "I of Newton" may have only been about five minutes in and out.

None of the episodes really had a decent 'twist', sometimes not really even any kind of a twist. I thought the Blue Scorpion was probably the best episode in the series. Quite liked The Wunderkind as well.

Deleted from planner unfinished, too much other stuff to
watch rather than plough on with something average.

'The Comedian' was painful, but I'll give another couple of episodes a go before giving up on it entirely (that may depend on whether The War of the Worlds captures my attention).
