Trevor, I grew up reading and enjoying Conan The Barbarian but was blown away when I discovered the TPBs of the Savage Sword of Conan, devouring about 13 of the 20 old volumes (thousands of pages including many hundreds of gorgeous ones by Buscema I'd never laid eyes on before.)  I have to say while CTB is fine and sometimes great, Savage Sword is my favorite.   It just seems more sexy, violent and dangerous (probably owing to the looser magazine format?)  Anyone interested in Conan should absolutely check these issues out.

Rick, the omnibus is pre-ordered! As an aside, I
noticed that you lucky buggers in the US get it a couple
of weeks earlier.

Pre-ordered mine a while back. Can't wait.

On a depressing note, I asked my students if they knew who Conan was. Not one had any idea. I grew up reading the novels and the comics so I find that a bit sad. The one thing they all have in common is a complete and total addiction to those damn phones and silly bubble games.
