On the other hand, Jason Aaron has been firing on all cylinders on AVENGERS.

-----

I recently went back and read the Jane Foster Thor story and I have to say it was a tremendous run.  The Jane stuff was great but there was so much cool Asgardian stuff, I loved all of it.  Plus the art was top notch, even the fill-ins were by Steve Epting!

Still, I read the first storyline in 'Avengers' but it didn't really move me.  I don't know, it felt very, I'm not even sure what the word is -- corporate?  It felt very safe and predictable and designed to use the movie characters as much as possible.  Don't get me wrong, the comics probably SHOULD be doing that to some degree, but I didn't feel the spark in it.  Maybe if the art was a little different, Ed McGuinness isn't the right fit, for me, but I always prefer my Avengers to look like John Buscema is drawing them.

I am planning on picking up the main "War of the Realms" series, though.  Hell, it was being set-up years ago!
