The man is tied with John Byrne as my all-time favorite comic-book artist. It feels like the end of an era.

Perez has had some health issues which have limited his work for a while now, and all I can wish him as a fan is good health and a happy retirement.

Certainly I'd love to see more work from him at some point since he's my favorite artist, and he's left the door open just a little bit for that, but his good health is much more important.

All things must pass. At least we still have his very large body of work to still enjoy. He'll always be one of the greatest artists to ever draw superhero comics -- hell, any sort of comic.

Sad news on many levels. I wish him all the best. He’ll always be a national treasure!

A dear, sweet, very talented man whom I had the pleasure of meeting once.  I wish him only the best in his retirement.

He and JB were the two titans in my mind, when I headed
to buy comics as a kid. I remember walking a long
distance to go to the news stand in Pampa Texas and
being blown away by the latest Teen Titans covers every
time.

George Pérez will always be in my top 5 artists who influenced me as a comic book reader and an artist... I wish him all the best and will always look on his amazingly creative body of work with appreciation.

There were only two comics professionals that made me consider going to a convention (never went, not interested). Pérez was the first. Wish him the best.

Perez's growth as an artist always amazed me. The first time I saw his stuff, I can't say I was impressed. But in a short amount of time it be came awe inspiring.

JB and George Perez are my favorite artists, so this is particularly sad for me. I am glad I did get to meet him in person, and get a convnetion sketch and a photo of him with me and my mom (the fact she was even at a convention is a story in itself).

I wish George all the luck!

Everyone is saying he's their favorite artist - he's also one of my favorite writers.  His WONDER WOMAN run holds up as some of the best comic books I've ever read.  His art, of course, played no small part in the high regard I hold that run.

Met him at SDCC a few years ago.  A really nice guy who seemed genuinely interested in his fans.  For a giant in the industry, I got no sense of ego at all.  Definitely a favorite.

I wish him all the best in retirement and hope it is long and filled with fun and love.

Very sad, but he's earned it... his place, status and legacy in comics is assured.  Hope he's still able to enjoy & live life to its fullest, despite any health struggles.
