What happens when your out-of-date Sony AIBO robotic dog can no longer be repaired back to full functioning?   

Send it off to "silicon heaven" with a Buddhist funeral ceremony:

I bought my mother an Aibo, decades ago. Since my father was a Buddhist, this seems appropriate.

(When my father was head of the zoning department in Calgary, he approved the building of a large pet cemetery, provided, as he put it, “proper consideration was given to pets of different religions.”)
