Speaking of drinks, do people in real life have spirits
out on display, and casually drink them at any time of
day? (other than alcoholics!)

Its true, when I was a kid, I was told by film and television that as an adult, when I went to see someone in their office at work, they would offer me a drink from the small bar located in every executive office.  Alas, this has never actually happened.

Steve, neither do I know anyone who arrives home from
work and hits the spirits as soon as they get in.

I don't think so Bill, at least mot prior to the sixties. I don't recall any effort to block out logos. And I actually enjoy "I spying" brand names sitting on counter tops and in cupboards in those older films.

Also, I'm not sure why, but I just love the sound of that heavy crystal tapping the glass when pouring!
