Saturday, January 12
  • Colts (6th seed) at Chiefs (1st seed)
  • Cowboys (3rd seed) at Rams (2nd seed)
Sunday, January 13
  • Chargers (5th seed) at Patriots (2nd seed) VERY unsure about this pick
  • Eagles (6th seed) at Saints (1st seed)
I'm no fan of the Eagles, duh, but I want them to go far just to see what happens with Foles and Wentz. Let's say they miraculously win the Super Bowl. Are the Eagles really going to let go of their 2 time Super Bowl champ?

Chiefs
Rams (Hope I'm wrong, but won't be.)

Patriots (Hope I'm wrong!)
Saints

My worst-case scenario is a Colts-Eagles Super Bowl. I will not watch if we get that matchup. (Team with a bad owner vs. team with bad fans.)

Saturday, January 12
  • Colts (6th seed) at Chiefs (1st seed) - A lot depends on the Colts and crowd noise.  If Indy gets up early, they can win.  But the longer they're behind, the worse it gets for them.
  • Cowboys (3rd seed) at Rams (2nd seed) - I love how a team named after a bird (Seahawks) were such mavens on the ground, while the notoriously earthbound ram is the mascot for Air L.A.  Dallas' defense will have to make that swing.  I think the Rams' offense was exposed by Chicago and they have learned from it.  If not...
Sunday, January 13
  • Chargers (5th seed) at Patriots (2nd seed)  - If weather is a factor, and I'm hearing that it will be.
  • Eagles (6th seed) at Saints (1st seed) - Foles runs out of mojo here.

We were treated to some great close games in week one.  Several matchups this week look similarly good.

Saturday, January 12
  • Colts (6th seed) at Chiefs (1st seed) - Chiefs were 3-3 late and 1-2 very late plus KC hasn't won a home playoff game in 25 years.   Kevin's right: if Luck can get ahead and quiet the crowd, Indy can upset.  BUT cold / sloppy weather can't favor the domer Colts and while Luck's been good, Mahomes has been historic.  Indy missing safety Mike Mitchell puts KC over.
  • Cowboys (3rd seed) at Rams (2nd seed) - Starting with the 4 INT Bears game Goff has been shaky last month and Cowboys are on the upswing.  Also, Dallas travels well and the Coliseum may have more Cowboys than Rams.  But while the above worries me, still taking LA, (just too much firepower).
Sunday, January 13
  • Chargers (5th seed) at Patriots (2nd seed) Brady has been throwing picks lately but Belichick with a week off always comes up with something.  Also, more weather: it may not snow but Rivers is 1-4 in the only 5 games he's ever played in temps at or below freezing and Sunday in Foxboro is predicted to be colder than that.
  • Eagles (6th seed) at Saints (1st seed) Only game of the week I feel confident about.  Brees picks apart Eagles' defense (again).

Gurley and the Rams' D is why I think they'll beat the Cowboys. Goff would have to have another bad performance in order for the Cowboys to win. If Goff has 4 INTs vs. Dallas (don't see it happening), the Rams are dead.

That being said, I want either the Cowboys or Saints in the Super Bowl. Ndamukong Suh should have already been tossed out of the league, so I don't want him getting a ring. And I've said plenty of times why I can't stand the Eagles.

AFC-wise, I want the Chiefs or Chargers. Sick of the Patriots, and the Colts' owner is a scumbag.

Saturday, January 12
  • Colts (6th seed) at Chiefs (1st seed)- I hate to do this and hope I'm wrong, but I see 2 teams going in opposite directions.
  • Cowboys (3rd seed) at Rams (2nd seed)- I think it's going to be the Rams defense that wreaks havoc upon Prescott and Dallas.
Sunday, January 13
  • Chargers (5th seed) at Patriots (2nd seed)- Not who I want but Rivers seems to be constantly on the brink of imploding.
  • Eagles (6th seed) at Saints (1st seed)- OK, if Eagles win this one Foles should start warming up his presidential campaign.

Saturday, January 12
  • Colts (6th seed) at Chiefs (1st seed) - Tough call, but I think Arrowhead kills the Colts.
  • Cowboys (3rd seed) at Rams (2nd seed) - Thankfully, the 'boys run ends here in my hometown.
Sunday, January 13
  • Chargers (5th seed) at Patriots (2nd seed) - Sure.  I'll do it.  Against all odds I'll pick the Chargers.  Why not?
  • Eagles (6th seed) at Saints (1st seed) - Close game.  Unlike Rick, I think this is a tough game to pick. Saints haven't looked dominant for a month and the Eagles come in hot.  Throw Week 11 out the window.  I think this will be a nail-biter.

There will be a road upset.  Mark my words.  Not all the home teams will win their games.

I've been driving around LA all day (dropped someone off at the airport and drove to a couple spread out stores) and I can tell you that there is flooding all around town from last night's heavy rains (predicted to continue intermittently but taper off by game time.)  Not sure how effective the grounds crew at the Coliseum will be but that Scutch grass is likely to be super-sloppy meaning more emphasis on more smash mouth and straight up the middle than finesse and gazelles.   Gurley's effectiveness looms large if the Rams want to avoid disappointing for the 2nd year in a row.

Chiefs squash that playoff jinx!

Colts were a complete trainwreck. Ugly stats, too many penalties, Vinatieri, drops!

The four best scoring offenses in the NFL advance so now we have two shootouts looming.  Thrilled both the Pats and Rams (my two teams) advanced, though both face challenges at the number one seeds next week.  4-0 this week and 3-1 last time for 7-1 total post-season.
