Dammit. He was always a favorite of mine. One of the absolute masters of deadpan. I wonder how far along he was in the taping of the new season of CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM.

Funny guy.  Had no idea he'd won multiple Emmys on Sonny and Cher and Dick Van Dyke.  I can't help wondering if his Super Dave show influenced JACKASS years later.

This one hurts. I loved him as Super Dave back in the day. I just got into CTE a little over a year ago and I loved him in that. He was also the only person to appear twice on Seinfeld’s COMEDIANS IN CARS GETTING COFFEE. Loved that guy.

Very sad news. A truly funny guy.
I didn't know until now that he was Albert Brooks' brother, though.

Sad to hear.

I loved BIZZARRE. I tuned in originally because Byner was a favorite. Soon though Super Dave was the bit I waited for most. Man he could hit my funny bone but good.

He made some podcast rounds in the last few years and his stories were always amazing.

My wife and I were listening to Steve Martin's audio of BORN STANDING UP. He talks about Bob Einstein quite a bit in covering his early years, when they were both writing for the Smothers Brothers. They were good friends then and apparently remained so.

It's an interesting and different take on the guy who'd go on to become Super Dave Osborne.

Sadly, I read last night that he was too sick to appear in any of the upcoming CURB episodes.

Oh no. And even sadder that he was too sick to be in the new season of Curb.

I'm sure Larry David will find an appropriate (?) and probably funny way to pay tribute to Bob Einstein. I'm just as sure it's what Einstein would have wanted.

I know I'm a bit late but I'm saddened by the news. Although I never knew about him until Curb, he was a favourite of mine. RIP.

There's a great bit of his that always cracked me up. His dad was a comedian also, and he actually died on stage during a roast for Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. So whenever people would come up to him and say "At least he died doing what he loved", he'd say "Oh yeah? How would you like it if I come to your dad's office and shoot him in the fucking face?"
