Well, I never thought someone could write an even less believable barn-built fighting machine sequence than the A-Team, but Chris Chibnall seems to have done it.

And don't get me started on what they've done to UNIT.

Sigh.

You mean the reason for them not featuring in this particular episode that could be easily reversed should they so wish?

The Dalek timeline continues to confuse me.

I thought the Ryan/Father drama dragged a little, but otherwise I enjoyed the episode. I like that a single Dalek felt like a threat again. It was starting to feel like the Doctor was eliminating the entire fleet/race every other season.

The Doctor is still coming across as a children`s tv
presenter to me, when she threatens the Dalek, i felt no
gravitas to her threat.

The Dalek "operating" a human was creepy i`ll give it
that!

The whole thing just seemed like a re-hash of 2005's "Dalek" with some slight minor changes.

Ok, so it constructed a new shell out of scrap, but
where did it get the artillery from on a farm? Why did
the 9th century people not destroy each part rather than
bury them?
Why is Graham`s house decorated like it`s the 1970`s?

Presumably she found the Dalek head, body and random missiles in the same place she got the Dalek gun. Very handy.
I was more surprised that the two archaeologists happily took orders from 4 complete strangers when The Doctor arrived!

Psychic mind controlling Daleks? How long has that been a thing? And last time I saw the inside of a Dalek I'm sure the squid-thing was only about the size of a pizza... this one was huge!

She had at least six or seven cases in the trunk/boot, and we see her loading two, so she definitely took more than just the gun.

Seemed like a cruder precursor to the Dalek Puppets that first appeared in "Asylum of the Daleks."

Yeah, Yaz should be using her "official" voice more often when arriving on a scene, if not outright abusing her police identification.

I'd somehow forgotten the one thing they told us about the New Year's special, so about thirty seconds before they told us the name, I was like, "Hey, it could be... Oh, yeah, it's supposed to be." The Daleks have been given magical powers before, like a biological swiss army knife... er sonic screwdriver, at least they've invented a fig leaf of a special recon Dalek.

What annoyed me was when the Dalek took over Brittain's Communications Centre; it shut down all radio and TV, the Internet, and wi-fi, because it needed all the "communication energy" to reach the fleet. This is just going out of your way to be stupid.

Jack, you`re lucky, The BBC spoiled the trailer they`d
been showing for weeks by adding "Exterminate" over the
soundtrack since Christmas!

Oh God, I'd forgotten about that! The awful stalks coming out of the forehead episode - I'd completely blanked it out!

It seems to me that a pretty big chunk of this past year has been "grounded" a la Pertwee's first couple seasons-- earthbound settings that require minimal special effects and so forth.  That tone has actually been bugging me until we saw the soldiers rolling up in their trucks to fight the Dalek and I made the Pertwee connection, I'm a bit better with it now.
