At the risk of being a complete spoil-sport, that is not at all what the MIT researchers have done.

The name says it all: implosion fabrication.  This is 3d printing at a nano scale.

The shrink ray is as real as Santa Clause.

Already done! There’s a doctor in, as I recall, Turkey, who has developed his own biological “ink” for 3D printers, and has created ears and heart valves.
