Early reactions have been staggeringly positive.....

If I had a buck for every time the word epic was enthusiastically used....
Id be quite happy.

I think we are about to watch something special.

From the NPR review:

The film deposits us, in medias res(igned), into a world sunk neck-deep in mourning, though it shows us only fleeting (albeit intriguing) glimpses of how that world's non-spandex contingent is muddling through somehow.

Quick count, now. How many of the movie Avengers wear Spandex?

That's civilians for you.  You can only love them, educate them, and hope they will grow in their understanding and pass that growth along to others.

First they have to shed the undercurrent of contempt, from which such comments spring.

Saw it at 00h01 this morning ;) epic but would have
appreciate a warning that there would not be any
post-credit scene, we waited until the last crdit
for nuts and it was 3h30 ;)

would have appreciate a warning that there would not be any
post-credit scene,

I'm going with the family on Sunday but have seen several "no post-credits scene" warnings already.

I sure hope you didn't sit there waiting with a full bladder!

Im reading reports that the press screenings did not have a post credits scene, but the actual release of the movie does. Did you watch a press screening?

Ive just seen a normal screening - no post credit scene.
But Ive heard rumours that once the film has opened in the US, one might be added - might be wishful thinking

I read a spoiler review and I think that the ending of this movie is going to leave moviegoers either disappointed, confused,or both disappointed and confused. I think that this movie might show the flaw in making these movies serialized and tying the roles so closely with the actors who play these characters. The movies are also making the same mistake that the comics have made.

There is a sound at the end of the film. Which is from the very first Iron Man film. That is all I'll say. I liked it. Very subtle, but a nice homage as I think that most of preceding films were given a nod.

Have been talking Marvel with my two kids yesterday all day, before seeing the film and afterwards.
Never thought that would happen.

Though I sometimes check out spoilers for end-credits scenes ('cause I never know if my son & I will have time to sit through them all), I would advise AGAINST anyone doing the same for this one:

I read an end-credits spoiler from an online writer who, while trying to be vague, still managed drop a MAJOR hint in his admitted-opinion as to what that end "sound" exactly means.

DON'T READ anywhere else if you can help it... it ruins what should be a surprise during the climax of the film.

For those that are curious,  NO after credits scene in the U.S. general release,  either. No mid-credits scene, either, so after the main credits,  you are safe to leave.

I enjoyed the film overall. A film this grand in scope can't tackle everything exactly as each fan would like, but it does a nice job of wrapping up some things. There is a big question I have about how the world in the MCU has been affected by the results of what happens in the film, but I will delve more into that discussion after more of you guys have weighed in with your views.
