It wasn’t like THOR RAGNAROK, where they decided to have a character crack a joke as the refugee Asgardians were watching their world be destroyed.

I enjoyed most of the humor in THOR: RAGNAROK.

But...I really could've done without the Bruce Banner jump/faceplant on the Bifrost. Talk about ruining a moment.

If I was a die heard Thor fan, I would have been pissed
that the writers think he is a walking joke. But since I
am not a huge fan, I enjoyed Ragnarok.

I don’t think Thor was made to be a joke himself.  To me he simply has a wry sense of humor.  And he has from the start.

“He’s adopted.”

Ragnarok (the movie) was played for laughs, but that was this particular instance given to us by that particular director.  And it was golden.

Thor nearly killed Thanos in IW....while he wielded a fully powered Gauntlet.  He did it in a fit of rage at his most powerful.  When Thor arrived in Wakanda with Groot and Rocket in tow....holding Stormbreaker....who exactly was laughing?

Unlike  CAPTAIN MARVEL, which I thought was a dud of a trailer, this was pitch perfect.  April 26 can't get here soon enough.

Maybe it`s a British thing, but we DO make jokes when in
dire circumstances!

Is this Thor based on the Ultimates version?

Cause growing up reading comics, when I did read Thor it
was not humorous at all. He was the god of thunder and
Odin's son and he acted and spoke the part. People were
in awe of his presence.

Maybe that wouldn't sell since Marvel seems to have a
money making formula that says you have to make the
audience laugh every 5 to 15 minutes.

Simonson's run had quite a bit of humor in it.

To be clear, I enjoyed most of the humor in RAGNAROK, but I thought that there were times that Waititi undercut story and emotion for a joke. Not moments after Skurge had made his big heroic sacrifice and the Asgardians were watching their world destroyed, he interrupts that emotion with awkward cringe humor using Korg.

Compare that to GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2 where Peter Quill is waxing on about how Yondu was like David Hasselhoff. It's funny, but it doesn't take anything away from the poignancy of the scene.

I guess I didn't see the right trailer, because I found Scott Lang in great character in this trailer and dead serious. "We met a few years ago? At the airport in Germany? I got really big." I can't see what's funny, although "Ant-Man? I know you know that" is kinda light. Maybe I'm still impressed by the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Incidentally, I thought Thor Ragnarok sucked, and a lot of that was due to the unnecessary humor. Deadpool, Spider-Man, Ant-Man - you might make them laugh fests. But THOR? And the Hulk? Maybe I don't recall the situations where they were laugh riots...

What is the significance of 10 in the opening logo?

And I look forward to loving his movie. And hating its outcome because the metastory is going to be present in my mind. "Now who are they going to get to play <hero or villain>?"  I guess I'm not rapt enough in my love for these properties.

Waititi would be appropriate as director for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3, if it ever comes out.

If it never comes out, I'll be satisfied with THE ADVENTURES OF THOR, ROCKET AND GROOT. Provided it's directed but the Russo brothers.

P.S. The significance of "10" is that Marvel Studios has been making movies since 2008.
