If I hadn't forgotten that Erick Flowers plays for the Jags, I'd have picked the Titans rather than do the coin flip. Regardless, I'm glad the Titans won.

Sunday,December 9

  • Jets at Bills

  • Panthers at Browns For any real shot Carolina needs this but somewhere I started rooting for Cleve.

  • Falcons at Packers Two supreme disappointments.

  • Ravens at Chiefs 2-2-2-4 KCís two losses total two FGs to two of the top four teams.

  • Patriots at Dolphins

  • Saints at Buccaneers If I was in Vegas Iíd take the Bucs and the points. But Iím not.

  • Giants at Redskins Surgeon Generalís Warning: Picking between unreliable teams may result in dizziness and nausea.

  • Colts at Texans

  • Bengals at Chargers Franchises headed in opposite directions.

  • Broncos at 49ers

  • Eagles at Cowboys Best chance for last yearís champ to get back into it falls short.

  • Steelers at Raiders Pittsburgh gets well for one week.

  • Lions at Cardinals Canít figure out Detroit and the Cards just won in GB so why not.

  • Rams at Bears LAís great offense in bad weather vs. a fired up and great Chicago defense.

Monday,December 10

  • Vikings at Seahawks Seattle quietly making noise (is that possible?)

Tie: Giants at Redskins.  0-0.

Sunday, December 9

  • Jets at Bills - aaaand I don't care
  • Panthers at Browns - Why not?  Newton is being worn down as we go, and Cleveland is on the right side on "What, me worry?"
  • Falcons at Packers - This game will suck.
  • Ravens at Chiefs - Chiefs gave up a lot of points to the Raiders, though.  And not garbage time points.
  • Patriots at Dolphins - Because Brady sucks in Miami, and I always pick the Pats anyway, and am usually wrong.
  • Saints at Buccaneers
  • Giants at Redskins
  • Colts at Texans - If the Colts couldn't score TDs against the Jags, I think they can lose here too.
  • Bengals at Chargers - Chargers are 90% likely to win this according to ESPN.  Okay, okay!
  • Broncos at 49ers - Sucks.
  • Eagles at Cowboys - Amari Cooper MVP?
  • Steelers at Raiders - Conner's out.  Steelers didn't use them when they had him the last two weeks.  And FINE: if you're gonna go pass-happy, do not forget that not every pass, not even half the passes, need to be quick screens or bombs.
  • Lions at Cardinals - Could be interesting.
  • Rams at Bears - Best game, right here.

Monday, December 10

  • Vikings at Seahawks - 12th man juice is needed here.

Sunday, December 9

  • Jets at Bills
  • Panthers at Browns - DISAGREE!!! The Panthers can't be this bad...can they?
  • Falcons at Packers - DISAGREE!!  I don't trust either team, but the Cheeseheads are awful and in disarray after firing their HC.
  • Ravens at Chiefs
  • Patriots at Dolphins - DISAGREE!!!  No faith in the 'fins.
  • Saints at Buccaneers
  • Giants at Redskins - Third string Mark Sanchez at QB for a beaten up 'skins team vs a Giants squad without OBJ.  What an awful game.
  • Colts at Texans
  • Bengals at Chargers
  • Broncos at 49ers
  • Eagles at Cowboys
  • Steelers at Raiders - DISAGREE!!!  I know the Steelers have looked less than impressive the last couple of games, really the last month, but I think I could field a squad that could beat the Raiders.
  • Lions at Cardinals - DISAGREE!!! I was on the cusp of hitting post having chosen the Lions, but I just couldn't.  Both squads are terrible.  Really awful.  Embarrassingly so. But I think where the Cards have some spark, the Lions have none.  Zip. Nada. Cards by 2.
  • Rams at Bears

Monday, December 10

  • Vikings at Seahawks - DISAGREE!!! If not now, then the season is lost.  I have to think the Vikes know this PLUS Seattle can't keep living on just 20 pass attempts from Wilson.
Six disagreements.  The most, by far, this season.  Let the chips fall where they may!

When the hell will teams stop being willing to give Mark Sanchez a job?

I'd rather have a run heavy team with the Living Statue himself, Brandon Weeden, under center than have Sanchez on my favorite team. (Which already happened. Fortunately he didn't play much if any when with the Cowboys.)

Why Weeden over Sanchez on a running team? Because I wouldn't trust Sanchez to not fumble the hand-off.

Kaepernick will probably subpoena Sanchez 'highlights' when he takes the NFL to court :)

Early games...

Sunday, December 9

  • Jets at Bills  - Wrong
  • Panthers at Browns - Wrong. HAGERMAN RIGHT!  The Panthers are that bad.  Wow.  Dropped six in a row.  Ugly.
  • Falcons at Packers - Wrong. HAGERMAN RIGHT!  Talk about bad.  The Dirty Bird is the Ugly Bird this season.
  • Ravens at Chiefs - Right
  • Patriots at Dolphins - Wrong. HAGERMAN RIGHT!  Best finish of the season.
  • Saints at Buccaneers - Right
  • Giants at Redskins - Right
  • Colts at Texans  - Wrong.
A horrible 4-5 so far made worse by going 0-3 v my frenemy.  Hoping to right the ship with the late games.

I know I haven't been picking this season because I was gone on vacation and forgot at the beginning and just never got back to it, but I got some tickets from a friend for the Vikings/Seahawks game on MNF, so I'm stoked!
I haven't been to a Seahawks game since the last game at the Kingdome when the Hawks lost to Miami in a one and done playoff season. This game should be pretty good and I'm looking forward to it. Go Hawks!!

Weekly Awards: we have a pair of Charlie Browns.  No one picked the 49ers to beat the Broncos, and I don't even feel guilty.  And the Colts showed us up by ending the division-rival Texans' ten-game losing streak.

And, sadly, I was right that the Raiders would beat the Steelers, and I was the only one.  Yay.  So when they miss the playoffs, I at least have this to cling to:

Good job, Kevin.  Only three QBs have beaten every team (Brees, Favre, Manning) and only four have beaten all but one (Brady, Kerry Collins, Rodgers and Roethlisberger).  Roethlisberger is now lifetime 0-4 vs. the Raiders.

Thursday, December 6

  • Jaguars at Titans Right

Sunday,December 9

  • Jets at Bills Wrong

  • Panthers at Browns Right

  • Falcons at Packers Right

  • Ravens at Chiefs Right

  • Patriots at Dolphins Wrong.  Keystone Kops finale.

  • Saints at Buccaneers Right (I had this wrong for some reason)

  • Giants at Redskins Right

  • Colts at Texans Wrong

  • Bengals at Chargers Right

  • Broncos at 49ers Wrong

  • Eagles at Cowboys Right Dallas dominated and still probably should have lost.

  • Steelers at Raiders Wrong

  • Lions at Cardinals Wrong

  • Rams at Bears Wrong Has Goff played worse since his rookie season?

Exact opposite of last week.  Started strong and finished meek.  8-7 pending tonight's game.

Well, I swept Matt by being on the right side of all six disagreements!  Talk about a swing.  I forgot to note how high the Monday Night Drama was - it was a lead changer!  Sucks that the Vikings had to lose, but I picked against my team and they are now in very real danger of missing the playoffs.

Next week's thread is ready.

As soon as I write off Seattle they run off four straight.  But then it's been a slightly streaky year with teams like the Texans starting 0-3 and winning 9 straight, Carolina starting 6-2 and losing 5 in a row, the Cowboys looking dead as a doornail then winning 5 straight.  The Superbowl champion Eagles have been one of the few consistent teams (consistently disappointing) but of all the remaining playoff contenders I have the most trouble reading the 'Hawks and Steelers.  Dallas has also looked pretty good and pretty awful, though their light remaining schedule promises a playoff berth (progress considering they've only won one playoff game in nine years.)

Anyway, 9-7 this week (I had myself as 8-8 but I put the Saints as a loss for some reason (they won.. duh!) thus the update to 9-7), 128-78-2 all told.
