Netflix has officially announced that Daredevil is cancelled after season 3.  Iron Fist getting the axe was not surprising.  Luke Cage was a bit moreso.  Daredevil was by a good margin the highest rated, so this seems to be a definite signal that Marvel Netflix is over.  Punisher and Jessica Jones have unreleased seasons and have not been officially cancelled, but at this point, it seems to just be a matter of time.

The announcement did, however, say that Matt Murdock would live on in future Marvel projects.  So maybe the series will get rebooted onto Disney+ streaming next year.

Yeah, Iím expecting all the Marvel Netflix characters to be rebooted in Marvelís streaming service. Perhaps with fewer nude sex scenes.

Wonder why they went ahead and ordered the JJ and PUNISHER seasons.

I have long held a soft spot for DD, but the on-screen versions have thus far failed to recreate any of the magic of the character, so the prospect of a reboot is a cause for optimism with me. The Netflix series was overly violent, overly nasty. DD should be gritty and perhaps a little grim, but not a lot grim. He's still a super hero -- there has to be a sense of fun and wonder in there somewhere.

Most people seem to think it`s because of Disney`s
streaming service, but maybe they have MCU plans for
Daredevil and Luke Cage?

I can't get into the Netflix series personally. If they indeed move to Disney,  I'd be fine with them starting over. I wonder how much influence Jeph Loeb has with the TV elements that I don't care for?

As soon as Disney announced plans for their own streaming service, it was only a matter of time until this announcement made it official.

I tried to watch Jessica Jones once, and it was a struggle to sit through the first episode.

Personally, I think this should be called the "Netflix Marvel Massacre."

That would have to be the case.  The Disney+ streaming service is being geared to families.  Content will supposedly come from their vast library including, but not limited to, their series on ABC, Pixar, the MU films, etc.  Anything edgier, like much of the content from their recent FOX acquisition such as R rated films and series from FX, will live on Hulu. In that light, I don't see these Netflix series making a jump to Disney+ without some changes to the adult content many of them contained.

So why not just put them on Hulu, then? They already have RUNAWAYS.

Even though I really enjoyed Daredevil, it didn't bother
me that it was canceled. I guess I felt I had my fill of
it and anything more would just be more of the same.

Sorry, but I am not going to shed any tears over the cancellations and the end of Marvel Netflix.

While I enjoyed some aspects of the shows in question, the characters they portrayed were very "off model" from the ones that I read about (and enjoyed) during my Marvel comic reading heydays.

I applaud Netflix for trying to bring some of my favorite superheroes to the small screen. I just wish the juice would have been worth the squeeze.

The difference between Marvel is astounding:

Most of Marvel's series are crap, but the movies are good.

Most DC's movies are crap, but most of the series are good.
