He was an amazing talent.

My dad loved to watch Hee Haw and I always thought "Why the hell are we watching this?" and then Roy Clark would do something that would make your jaw drop -

Like Robert said, he was an amazing talent.  His banjo and guitar work was stunning to listen to and watch.

Only discovered him recently through you tube, watching clips of the likes of him, Glen Campbell, Chet Atkins,  and Jerry Reed playing like lightning. Very talented player.

Heís one of my favorite guitarists ever. He does stuff that just looks so damn easy, but Iíd never be able to do in a million years.

I can relate to Robert in that my dad would call me in on a Saturday night and say "Watch Roy Clark play guitar!" because I was learning to play and I'd always say "He plays country music, I want to be Eddie Van Halen." Like many things involving my Dad in my lifetime, he was proven right. When I started to get older, I LOVED watching Roy Clark play guitar and I still record Hee Haw to this day to watch him play!

Peter, I think Glen Campbell is truly underrated as a guitar player.

Like many of us of a certain age we were, "forced" to watch HEE HAW as kids, but really once I started watching I couldn't look away.

Those performances above are incredible!
