I AM enjoying seeing what others can remember was their 1st purchase and their oldest issues - it is bringing back so many memories of times gone by, collecting empty pop bottles to cash in for comic purchases, my 3 favorites 'comic stores' (Greaves Pharmacy, News Depot, and DD Discount) and the bicycle ride hitting all 3.

if others like it, i'll do it again, in about a week, next time with a Marvel character.

I believe this was the first Batman comic I ever got, likely bought by my mom. I was pretty spoiled right off the bat to get this Neal Adams over-sized reprint goodness. It is probably the oldest Batman comic I've ever had in my collection as well. Sadly, I don't own it anymore. No idea whatever happened to it.

I think Batman #204 and #205 (in 1968) were my first Batman comics. I'm sure my father bought them.

It was also the first time I remember a story continuing beyond one issue (this was before I started reading some Marvel titles.).

Don't recall the first but the oldest would have been issue #32.

Batman #253...bought from a local grocery store spinner rack while on
vacation in Michigan. Still one of the greatest covers ever, IMHO.

Detective #600, I was still pretty much just a Marvel buyer up to that point but with the Batman movie coming, I decided to start picking up DC (previously my only DC purchases were JB's Superman books).

I don't remember precisely, but I suspect Detective 600 was also my first purchased Batman title.

I bought a few back issues after that, so this may be my oldest:

1st Batman comic I recall buying with my myself...

Oldest Batman related comic I recall owning...

While I am a comic book retailer, I'm not a big-time dealer, so coming across Golden-Age Batman comics is few and far between for me. Sigh.

Shane Matlock, that Treasury-Sized Batman cover by Neal Adams is one of my all-time favorite Batman pictures. I bought a print of it from Neal Adams and he signed it, too.
