I have no real interest in Satriani, but I'd seen the album before and noticed the Surfer in passing. I didn't realise until today that it was (based on) JB's work! In my addled brain, I somehow thought it was a Kirby image.

Well there you go, learn something new every day. JB's work is so deeply ingrained in all manner of popular culture highlights, it's hard to keep up. Future generations will eventually recognise JB's many creative contributions. I can just see them now, bulldozing the Rob Liefeld Museum of Visual Oddities to build a stately John Byrne Art Gallery and Library.
