He showed up in JB’s first run on FF. I think that was after him being sent to the negative zone.

"...but does anyone know why/how Galactus left the Negative Zone?"
...
I don't see an explanation either, Robbie. Galactus appears in a Thor storyline against Ego a couple of years after the Gabriel story. In that story Donald Blake explained to Hercules, Galactus' tale ending with the original FF story. Seems to have ignored the Air-Walker adventure all together.

Thanks, Mr Centers.
It's a shame in a way, I'm quite intrigued by what Galactus got up to in the Negative Zone. The Air-Walker story ended with Reed explaining that there'd be enough planets (uninhabited, I presume) in the Negative Zone to cater for Galactus' "diet" for a long time to come.

I recall reading somewhere that in a more recent story someone tried to send Galactus to the Negative Zone so that he would starve since he would be unable to consume any anti-matter.
Something about that seems wrong to me...

Sending him there to starve, or sending him there to feed -- neither sit too well with me. Which is probably why I "forgot" him being sent there when I brought him into one of my stories.

I loved those Namor issues. The art was amazing with those zip-a-tone effects. Plus, the return of Iron Fist. So good.

This is where the memory plays tricks.
I *thought* that Reed had sent Galactus to the Negative Zone specifically to "consume" uninhabited planets.
But re-reading the panel over recent days, Reed simply referred to sending him there due to the amount of planets.
How can one misremember dialogue? What else am I not remembering properly? Memories and brains, eh?

There's a forgotten moment: probably in the first issue of our host's Negative Zone stories, Reed is going over what he knows about it, he wonders if even Galactus found it too much of a challenge.
There was also a panel with images of inhabitants of the Negative Zone, Annihillus and Styggor -- Stygor had appeared a few issues before our host took over. This led me to buy these Stygor stories as I was already digging through the back issue bins for early Byrne... maybe someday I'll forgive him.

I didn't see a Galactus appearance again until our host's stories.

Your memory is slightly off Robert. Galactus appeared two more times after that story with Gabriel. He appeared in Thor and a later run of FF stories where the Impossible Man tricked Galactus into consuming his home planet after trying to consume Counter Earth. The High Evolutionary evolved Galactus into pure energy to save him after a bad reaction to consuming the planet Poppup.

Right but another character in that Thor story brought up the fact that the last time Galactus was seen Reed "tricked" him into entering the Negative Zone but he must have figured a way out.

What we need is an "Untold Tales of Galactus" which will cover his Negative Zone exploits.
Anyone?

Galactus fought the Sphynx on earth during JB's first run on FF as artist same storyline that introduced Terrax.
