I seem to recall a fantasy film as a kid. Something akin to Sinbad (was it a Sinbad film? Maybe). There's a musical box in the film with a wind-up figure (male) inside. If memory serves me right, the figure in the musical box becomes larger - and then becomes a threat to people. Someone, either Sinbad or someone in the vein of Sinbad, defeats the threat. I remember a party or celebration of some kind prior to the musical figure's threat.

I'm pretty sure that is the scene, but can vaguely recall it. A marriage proposal awaits the first person who can tell me the name of the film.

I wish someone would invent technology that could scan our brains for film scenes - and then tell us the name of the film. I have so many vague memories of scenes (mainly 80s VHS releases), but even with a bit of Googling, I can't always find out details of the specifics!

JACK THE GIANT KILLER (1962)

A movie with a curious history. Years after its release it was over-dubbed as a MUSICAL!

Thank you so much, Mr Byrne! I'd asked this question previously (not here, but to movie-loving friends).

Erm, can I retract the offer in my first post?

Oh, I don't know, Robbie Byrne has kind of a nice ring about it.

Ha! :D

I might have to re-evaluate my Googling "skills". With many films, I seem unable to find what I need. Initially, the results were the films KRULL and MUSIC BOX.

No Google required. JACK THE GIANT KILLER is a favorite from my tweens. As soon as I read the description, I knew which movie it was.

Itís very much a discount Sindbad, the monster in question looking like Ray Harryhausenís cyclops in his off hours.

Probably explains why the thought of Sinbad was in my head!
