So this is hitting the stores soon. Looks like a must have for any Beatles fan.

Maybe.  The "White Album" could very well be my favorite Beatles album ever, but I find these multi-disc special editions a chore to sit through, regardless of artist.

Plus they're so danged expensive!  Looks handsome, but I'll probably pass.

I already have the White Album and then a load of extra White Album via the Beatles Anthology 3. It's good stuff, but I really don't need more.

And because I couldn't resist...

I'm so tired of these kind of releases. I will get involved if I have to, but once you introduce all these extra layers, when do you end? It's transparent that the record company just wants your money, so it's like peeling back the skin of a glass onion. That said, if an essential version comes out, I'd be like 'don't pass me by', but honestly, honey pie, some of it just makes me want to cry, baby, cry. Maybe someone will buy it for me for my birthday, but the set seems very dear; prudence alone won't let me shell out for it. If my wife, bless her, was to buy it for me, I would have to say, thank you, Martha, my dear, but if yer gonna buy yer white albums and yer red albums, well, really, I need yer blues as well. And, you know, everytime there's a revolution in storage media, we get a new version of the whole Beatles catalogue. What is this, like revolution 9 or what? And there's a whole lot of tracks here. I'd like to listen to it all, but, boy, is it long, long, long. I mean, it's OK to release all these re-issues and unheard extra tracks in an affluent country like the States, but back in the USSR, say, who can afford all this guff? Anyway, I've had my say. Good night.

I would be interested in the 5.1 HD mix, but as usual
that`s not a separate option!

It's overhyped, but aren't they all? I did like some of the 'sessions' disc stuff on Pepper (and that's far from my fave album) but they should just put out the Esher demos stuff on it's own and not make people have to buy the part they already have yet again, nor the new Giles Martin re-imagination of it who don't want that either.
