Jets - No way am I picking the Browns at all this season!

Panthers
Vikings
Eagles
Dolphins
Broncos
Texans
Chiefs
Jaguars
Saints
Packers
Rams
Cowboys
Bears
Patriots

Steelers

I will not pick the Raiders until Gruden shows he has a clue what he's doing.

I cannot pick the Giants. All due to how they've played so far. Do not see them improving any time soon. They'll win some games. So will the Raiders. Browns will likely go winless all season.

Thursday, September 20

  • Jets at Browns - Am I picking this so we have a TNF disagreement or do I really believe this can be the Browns first win since 2016?  A little of both.  They're much improved and I think the Lions are just that awful thus the ass-kicking the Jets gave them.
The rest of my picks on Saturday.

The one thing about the Browns this year:  They should be 2-0, or 1-0-1 at worst.  If they had an average kicker, they could have won both games.  An average kicker would make at least 1 of those FGs and 1 of PATs vs the Saints, which gives them the win.

They have a new kicker this week and their home opener.  I think Cleveland gets their free beer on Thursday night.

Thursday, September 20

  • Jets at Browns Not an endorsement of Cleve, just acknowledging a Jets' rookie QB on the road in a short week and all losing streaks eventually end.

Sunday, September 23

  • Bengals at Panthers Cincy fails "are they for real" test this week
  • Bills at Vikings Minnesota will feast
  • Colts at Eagles Wentz's return ignites Philly crowd
  • Raiders at Dolphins
  • Broncos at Ravens
  • Giants at Texans Is this the end of Eli?
  • 49ers at Chiefs High scoring affair
  • Titans at Jaguars
  • Saints at Falcons
  • Packers at Redskins Rodgers' bravery was impressive last week but he's still not practicing and eventually that catches up to you.
  • Chargers at Rams
  • Cowboys at Seahawks
  • Bears at Cardinals
  • Patriots at Lions

Monday, September 24

  • Steelers at Buccaneers Tough game Pitt must win to avoid 0-3 so they will.

@Matt

This week's game with the Jets, the Browns very will might win. But I just can't bring myself to pick the Browns at all this season. You're right about their kicking situation. But Hue Jackson should have been fired after, if not during, last season.

I didn't state it in my picks like I usually do, but the Steelers-Bucs is a game I think could go either way. Just went with who I think will most likely win.

*edit* The league also needs to fix this roughing the passer crap.

I've been thinking all day who I was going to pick.  Well, until I forgot about it.  I was leaning Browns and since that's Matt's pick and I'm late, I am going to fall in line.

What beer? Bud Light (and all light/lite beers) is beer-flavored water.

I didn't think they'd do it, but I'm actually glad my pick was wrong and they won. Hopefully Baker Mayfield is the real deal. Because the Browns' fans have suffered for far too long. To the point that I wouldn't be surprised if the majority were masochists.

With my TNF victory secured, I'm ready to make some picks!

Sunday, September 23

  • Bengals at Panthers - I believe. I also think we're supposed to think the Panthers are great, but what have they done to prove that?  They're 1-1 and their win was vs a terrible Cowboys team at home by 8 points.  Giant killers they are not. Points in bunches like the Bengals they are also not.
  • Bills at Vikings - Brother, please.  The Bills are the new Browns.  They are unequivocally awful.  We're already resting starters because this should be an easy W.
  • Colts at Eagles - I'll go on a limb here and pick a Colts team against the Eagles playing Wentz for the first time since injury.
  • Raiders at Dolphins - I don't think either team is great.  That said, I've been down on the Gruden decade-long experiment from the inception.  So far I'm proved right.  Can't turn against that now.
  • Broncos at Ravens
  • Giants at Texans
  • 49ers at Chiefs
  • Titans at Jaguars
  • Saints at Falcons
  • Packers at Redskins
  • Chargers at Rams - We get the Rams here in LA Thursday night.  Guess who will be at that game...?
  • Cowboys at Seahawks - Two fairly inept teams makes me pick the home squad.
  • Bears at Cardinals - Even in their worst years recently, and there have been some bad ones, the Cards were always competitive.  Not this season.  If the Bears can't beat this team then they aren't as far along as we've been told they are.
  • Patriots at Lions

Monday, September 24

  • Steelers at Buccaneers - Is this to stir the pot a little?  Sure.  Is this to create some MNF drama? You bet.  Do I think the Steelers as an organization are in total disarray?  Absolutely.  If this were at home, I'd pick 'em but on the road with Fitzmagic and a team that's clicking on all cylinders?  I'd be stupid to take the normally risky bet.
TONS of options to disagree with me, Hagerman, and over a day to do so.  Get off your ass and make your picks.  That's an order!

Don't get down on Browns fans for being masochists, Brian.  Your team has been marginally better for a decade or more and I'm sure you haven't decided to abandon all hope.  I know I've stuck with the Vikes through thick and thin because, well, I'm a fan.  They're my team and fuck anyone who says I should jump ship.

This feels like one of those Home Field weekends.  Even though I picked a significant number of road teams.

Sunday, September 23

  •        Bengals atPanthers - It all comes down to Cam.
  •        Bills at Vikings
  •        Colts at Eagles (MATT DISAGREES!) - I think the Eagles D will assert itself.
  •        Raiders at Dolphins
  •        Broncos at Ravens - Stealth classic?
  •        Giants at Texans
  •        49ers at Chiefs - Chiefs up early and hang on.
  •        Titans at Jaguars - Patriots hangover would be awful here against a division foe.
  •        Saints atFalcons (MATT DISAGREES!) - I'm already sweating though.
  •        Packers atRedskins
  •        Chargers at Rams
  •        Cowboys at Seahawks - I don't have the guts to disagree.  Russell Wilson will be zigging and zagging all day.
  •        Bears atCardinals
  •        Patriots atLions

Monday, September 24

  •        Steelers at Buccaneers (MATT DISAGREES!) - All sorts of reasons for my guys to lose here.  I think they will simplify the defense and try to get back into pass-rusher form from last year.  And for the love of Art Rooney can we not turn the ball over one time?  I'm hoping the Steelers D plays as well against the Bucs as the Eagles (tall order) and the offense plays as well against the Bucs as the Saints.  Plus, it's week 3!  We are contractually obligated to have some MONDAY NIGHT DRAMA!

Before the start of the season I thought the NFC North would be the toughest in the conference. Now the "Black $ Blue" division is just plain black and blue.

What a fucking shitty day for Vikings fans...

Sunday, September 23

  •        Bengals at Panthers - Wrong
  •        Bills at Vikings - Wrong.  What a crap game for the Vikes.  As Romo said on the broadcast many times, it was a classic trap game and the Vikes took the bait.  We're an infinitely better team than how they played today, but we'll have to show that really quick as we've got a road tilt vs the Rams in five days.
  •        Colts at Eagles - Wrong. HAGERMAN RIGHT.
  •        Raiders at Dolphins - Right
  •        Broncos at Ravens - Right
  •        Giants at Texans - Wrong
  •        49ers at Chiefs - Right
  •         Titans at Jaguars - Wrong. Bortles beats the Pats and is a no-show against a divisional foe.
  •        Saints at Falcons - Wrong. HAGERMAN RIGHT!! Great game.  Could have gone either way.
  •        Packers at Redskins - Wrong.  With the Bears down early vs the hapless Cards and little to no confidence in the Lions beating the Pats tonight, the NFC North could go winless for the first time in a long time.
An ugly 4-7 so far and even worse I go 0-2 v Hagerman.  Any given Sunday I guess!
