I concede that Batman's rogues gallery is more well known, however, Spider-Man's rogues gallery is more colorful and fun to me.

Despite Drew putting a good "case" forward, it's so hard to call. You might as well ask me, Drew, who wins if Juggernaut takes on Destroyer. ;-)

We need to build a super computer that can objectively collate the data and give us an answer...

Chocolate or peanut butter, hot fudge or caramel toppings, I just can't decide. On any given day I can go one way or the other. Holy indecisive!

I have been thinking about this for what feels like days now.  I love them both.  They are so interesting and always pull me in.  So I finally came to a decision.  It was hard work.

My answer - Batman's Rogue's Gallery.

The basis of my decision when all things are considered equal...the overall color palette.

We do have one, Vegas. What would the Vegas odds be?
Odds on, Superman Should have beaten Batman. Does anyone want to dispute that? But in that book, he didn't so now everyone wants to change the odds based on the outcome. Can't do that.

Odds are (probaly)  that Spiderman would beat Batman. We become two kids arguing in the backyard.
Batman has a utility belt. Spiderman webs it closed.
Batman has anti-web stuff. Peter changes the formula the night before.
Batman sets a trap. Spidey sense avoids it.
Spiderman webs Batman, Batman's cape is treated special.
Spidey has highground, Batman chooses location, lures Spidey there.
Spidey is strong and agile, Bats makes a sonic gun that disrupts the axons and neurons..
-------
As far as Rogues go, I'd say they follow the DC and Marvel paradigm.
The DC rogues are (somewhat) better written, but the Marvel rogues look better. There's something there, overall that translates across all their sensibilities.

It's like Marvel does young better but DC does immersion better.

Hmm, interesting. That'd be a great topic in itself!

Got it in a nutshell. Steve Ditko really had an unmatchable run in creating that rogues gallery. I mean just look at Classic Mysterio. That's a work of design genius right there!

I probably favour Spider-man's gallery if we start adding up the numbers of interesting villains though. But I will say that if Catwoman and Black Cat are compared then DC has pretty much won that contest outright now. (Which is a real reversal for me.) Largely because Marvel utterly ruined decades of Felicia's characterisation. Which conspicuously seemed to happen right around the time Sony put a Felicia in their movies. As if there was some edict that came down from on high to preemptively sabotage the character. So she couldn't be used as a super-heroine. (Not that that didn't stop Sony from considering it nonetheless.) But now she's just a really one note unlikable gang boss.

That's a tough choice, but I'm going with Spider-Man.

Batman, but Spider-Man is a close second.
