Superman #3 (Love the art and the writing has me buying Superman for the first time in years).

Plastic Man #4 (People will discover this series for years to come. Highly recommended.)

The Wrong Earth #1 (Tom Peyer has been writing comics for years and he's local for me. Plus, it looks and sounds like a good book).

I had stopped buying comics about 4 years ago but this week I picked up 2 new comics...

Fantastic Four #2 - only because I had bought the Art Adams variant cover on #1 and wanted the complete picture. Don't plan to buy #3.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 #1 - a friend is one of the writers. Cute but I don't see buying issue #2.

Next week, back to no new comics.

Fantastic Four #2: Apparently by the end of this issue I won't need to finish reading the Marvel 2-in-1 story as it will be revealed how they were reunited...
Hey Kids, Comics #2: I liked the first issue, and I like Chaykins' art so I'll be hanging around for a while...
Mage, The Hero Denied #12: Only 3 more issues until the last issue of Mage is here, it's been a fun(sometimes not) ride...
Star Wars Darth Vader #21: The second DV series is just as good as the first. The first series took place shortly after A New Hope, this one takes place before ANH and after Revenge of the Sith.
Superman #3: I haven't hated Bendis' writing in this and the Man of Steel series, we'll see if I hang around after the first arc is done...

Marvel:
Fantastic Four #2 - A bookend for issue #1. This looks promising, though I always worry when a run starts with a seemingly unbeatable foe and a universe threatening plot, as there's often nowhere to go afterwards.

Dark Horse:
B.P.R.D. The Devil You Know #10 - Wow! Didn't see that coming...
Joe Golem Occult Detective: The Drowning City #1 (Of 5) - Disappointed by the art change, as this book had a unique look to it.
Neil Gaiman's American Gods My Ainsel #6 - This one's still moving along slowly...
Seeds #2 - A weird little end of the world story with beautiful art by David Aja.

IDW:
League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen The Tempest #2 - Mr Bond starts to put his plans in motion.

Image:
Cemetery Beach #1 (Of 7) - Fast-paced adventure in an Earth colony that long ago lost touch with the mother planet and developed its own set of rules.
Hey Kids Comics #2 - Chaykin is dishing dirt, but keeping things fairly evenly handed.
Mage The Hero Denied #12 (Of 15) - Wagner is keep his plots moving along nicely, as we head towards the end game.

The Seeds #2 - Good to see Ann Nocenti writing again and love the Aja art.

League of Extraordinary Gentleman: The Tempest #2 - Alan Moore's swan song from comics, supposedly.

Fantastic Four #2 - Meh. Art is okay but the artist can not draw The Thing.

Amazing Spider-Man #5 - It's okay. Better than Slott's take on the character, but honestly I expected to like the book more after loving Spencer's Superior Foes of Spider-Man, which he's calling back to with the cast.

Spongebob Comics #84 - My son's choice.

I’ve only read FF #2 from this week.  No spoilers but there’s something I really didn’t like about the way Slott handeled Reed.

G.I. JOE #256 for me. Been following it since Shawn Kane got me hooked again. A new arc has started. Who can resist an arc called "The Cobra's Venom"?

Robbie, I certainly hope you enjoyed it!

I certainly have, thank you. Even got a letter printed in one issue (part of which requested a return by Raptor, I love the character).

Haven't started "The Cobra's Venom" yet, but will soon.

Nick Spencer on AMAZING SPIDER-MAN: very good.

Brian Michael Bendis on SUPERMAN: awful beyond words.

Comixology had a Batman sale so I've bought a few things and been reading them.

Dark Knight III, which was a marked improvement over DK II.

All Star Batman and Robin - What on earth was this piece of garbage??? No one is likeable, no one is in character, the plot is a mess (Dick Grayson is still in the Batmobile having been taken by Batman, and his image is already on milk cartons?). I paid £2.99 for this mess and I feel robbed!

Hush - but I haven't read that yet.

James, is that the ALL STAR BATMAN from Miller and Lee (circa 2005)? If so, I agree.

(Silly question, I know, but I lost track of it, and I think there have been ALL-STAR BATMAN issues since, perhaps by a different creator?).

Yes Robbie - it's the Miller/Lee one. Just horrible, nasty. Wonder Woman and Superman (and in fact all the League) are really horrible to read.

There is no love of any character in this piece, just sneering contempt and hate.
