I thought she was going to obliterate that cat, saying
it was a Skrull!

Ok...I love the visuals.  CGI is touchy on the energy laden flight/fight scenes.....but I have yet to see totally flawless effects on stuff like this...especially in trailers.

Her space battle looked very cool and unlike anything yet seen in the MCU.  Visually she will be unique.

I am concerned about the rather stilted...robotic line delivery from the voice over...and in some of Brie Larson's cuts in the trailer.  Surely the director can 'hear' how dull and uninterested she sounds in the voiceover?  Hopefully this won't be a steady aspect of the film.

'Chewie' (her "cat") is named 'Goose' in this. Nice Top Gun reference name change to avoid any Star Wars weirdness I suppose.

I'm getting the feeling her origin has been revamped to not include
Mar-Vel at all.  It was recently revealed that Jude Law isn't playing him.  I'll have to see how it plays out in the film.

I really enjoyed the trailer and love the fact that I'm going to see a movie that's some form or another of the Kree/Skrull war.

Given the arc hinted at in the trailer, her sounding cold and robotic seems to be the point. I trust that Larson will play her differently when shes Carol.

Yup, that sentiment has been shared elsewhere.  But to use what feels like less than impressive dialog/line delivery to actually "sell" the movie seems risky.

I hope you're right.

Reminder to avoid story details that could potentially spoil the film for those (like me) who want to see this without spoilers.

Watched this trailer during halftime on Monday.  Have to say that I was less than impressed.  First trailer by Marvel that hasn't gotten me jazzed for one of their films.  I've been a huge fan of the character for a very long time, so it's not indifference.  It just didn't grab me like 99.9% of the others have.

Yeah, I'm with you, Matt. No real buzz there.

I was a fan of the Negative Zone-trapped/Rick Jones-summoned iteration of  Mar-Vell, from reprints from my youth. Don't have any iron in the fire particularly as far the Carol Danvers version goes, though I liked Ms Marvel well enough (well, mainly for the awesome Cockrum-designed costume she wore).

Also saw the trailer with the girlfriend, who said it looked horrible and that nothing about it seemed interesting. Then the Aquaman started and I said: "now you're interested" and she: "oh, yeah!"

Looks like a fun, solid time at the theater.  But again, kind of a by-the-numbers trailer from Marvel Studios.

New Captain Marvel Special Look:

For those worried that Carol was coming across as too cold and emotionless, shes displaying a lot more sass here. Im liking the new material.

I can. This is the first MCU movie I don't
plan of seeing. I feel the film was
miscast. Brie Larson feels more like Tree
Larson.

Hasn't changed my original feel from the trailers, which was no real buzz.

The Skrulls have an iconic look. Green skin. Purple skull caps. I'm glad that we are going to get Skrulls, but is it too much to ask that an iconic look doesn't get 'improved'?

I don't pay much attention to MCU trailers. I just go and see them regardless of what I see in the trailers. The only one I didn't see in the theaters was GOTG 2, because I didn't like GOTG 1.

Awesome trailer!  Very much looking forward to this.

I could do without that last comedy bit, but that seems to be a recurring theme with me and Marvel trailers!

Its pathological.

Yeah, that comment did conjure to mind the yellow spandex dig from Singer's X-Men. The films from Marvel Studios have had an irreverent humour at times, but have generally avoided mocking the material (a notable exception being in Captain America: The First Avenger with the war bonds tour, which misguidedly mocked the true costume).

Shield are so dumb they have their logo on their caps and super-hero suits are worthy of denigrating comments is not a direction I'd like to see them take. Keep it light, keep it funny, but play it straight.

On the bright side, he called the costume rubber as opposed to spandex.

Brie Larson was on a show last night, a behind-the-scenes thing, and she talked about 1) how awesome her suit was and 2) how it made her feel powerful the first time she put on the whole thing. So there's one actor who doesn't diss the suit!

I follow Larson's Instagram, and while I know it's probably being written by a Disney intern, I get a kick out of how genuinely excited she seems to be about this project since the get-go.

The trailers are interesting, and I will likely enjoy the movie. My problem is that some of the messaging (from Marvel?) is that the "next generation" of Marvel movie characters including Captain Marvel will be taking over from Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, etc. If true, I don't think I will be as enthused about future Marvel movies. Black Panther, Captain Marvel, The Eternals aren't as interesting to me.
