Carla Gugino is 47 today.

After seeing SIN CITY, I emailed Frank Miller. "If you were in the same room with Carla Gugino naked, I will have to kill you."

He replied "I was. You will."

Carla Gugino is without question one of my favorite actors. I strongly recommend "Women in Trouble" and the follow-up "Electra Luxx" to anyone who wants some fun, adult-oriented entertainment. There was supposed to have been a third film, but it looks as if it will never be made. She has made a few other films with the same writer/director, Sebastian Gutierrez (who is also her significant other), such as "Girl Walks Into a Bar" and "Hotel Noir" (aka "City of Sin").

She was also the love interest on the first season of "Spin City." Paula Marshall, another favorite of mine, was the girlfriend in season two, making Michael J. Fox the only leading man that I know of to share romantic scenes with both of them.

I remember being impressed way back in 1990 when she became a recurring character in the much-reviled final season of Falcon Crest, which must have been one of her earliest roles.

A gorgeous and talented actress. Given her age Hollywood is no doubt going to have to offer her roles as the "older woman" in any film she makes now.

And as a 52 year old, red blooded American male, I am perfectly okay with that ;-)

I just went back and watched the episode of "Quantum Leap" that she was in. She was nearly unrecognizable as a young newlywed in 1956 dying of a burst appendix.

Mention should be made of her excellent turn as Karen Sisco in the all-too-short-lived series of the same name. She's said that program's untimely demise opened up her schedule enabling her to accept her first Broadway show, but selfishly, I'd really like to have seen more of the show. That was a perfect fusion of character and performer.

I think the first thing I saw her in was THE WONDER YEARS as the girl that was inexplicably dating Kevinís older brother and then inexplicably started cheating on him with Kevin. She was too hot for either of you!

My Girlfriend and I, jokingly, have the
celebrity, forgive and forget rule. Her's
is Brad Pitt. Mine is Carla Gugino.

Happy Birthday
