I currently write, record, and perform songs (30 years), paint houses (25 years), and coach soccer with a specialty in goalkeeping (8 years). I do all of this under the name Beaver Nelson, which is all anyone who knows me has called me since I was 4 days old.

It has been quite fun to see what people here do for a living.

Even well into adulthood I'm having trouble summing this up... I've done work in screenwriting, magazine writing & editorial, taught classes for teenagers, and am currently at work on my first videogame writing gig.

I'm a photographer for the University of South Carolina.
I've met many high-profile people through my job.
Politicians, writers, musicians, actors, the list goes on
and on.

A few years ago, Vice President Biden was our commencement
speaker and the secret service gave me a lapel pin so I
could roam during his speech. I was the only one who could
leave his seat while the VP was on stage. A few days ago, I
was at an event with Secretary Dick Riley and President
Clinton. I was able to get the book 'The President is
Missing' signed.

Last year Eva Schloss (Anne Frank's step-sister) came to
talk, and years ago, Kevin Smith made an appearance. I've
had the opportunity to meet James Brown, Billy Joel, and
Taylor Swift. Writers include David Baldacci, Pat Conroy,
John Jakes, and Elmore Leonard. Once, I was sitting in my
office and someone knocked and asked for directions to
another office. It took me a second to recognize Reiko
Aylesworth, from 24 and Hawaii Five-0.

This is in addition to shooting the day-to-day activities
and events of the university.

However, my favorite meeting was with a gentleman named Roy
Thomas, who came to the library to give a talk about the
history of comics. I talked to Roy and Dann after the event
and was later invited to their house for a Halloween party.
My children and I have enjoyed their parties for the last
decade.

In my spare time, I'm working on the second first draft of a
novel.

Growing up, my parents expressed exasperation that I was never satisfied with just drawing the exterior of vehicles, that I also had to draw the interior mechanisms, compartments, and features as well...

No surprise that I ended up being a drafter at an aircraft manufacturing company for the past few decades...

...Discovered that many of my coworkers were also had fine arts backgrounds as well.

I work in the Test Department at Micron, was a Production Lead on nights for a number of years until 2015 where I took on a more complicated role.  Was going great until it was announced last fall that all Back-End Operations was moving to Taiwan, dubbed the "Center of Excellence".  They promoted me to a Planner position to help with the run-out plan.  It was just announced yesterday that our end-date was pulled in for a 3rd time and I'll be unemployed at the end of November.

I manage a small team of very talented illustration
artists within a worldwide leading educational
electronic toys company. I have 5 ladies in Hong Kong, 2
in our plant in China and 2 guys at said plant. The
ladies in HK are known as "The Didi's Angels".
On many projects we are either involved on the stickers
on the toys, the illustrations for the books if any, the
illustrations on the packaging, the LED animations for
some electronic parts or the patterns on some fabrics
for the dolls.

I own and operate three businesses, each of which sort of dovetail into one another: one is a leaflet delivery business (yeah I deliver junk mail); second is a domestic cleaning company and finally a business supplying and fitting window blinds.  Each one offers different challenges and rewards on a daily basis.
