I do computer customer technical support. Basically, people call me up and give me one of two queries:Q: "I can't get this to work!" A: "Have you tried rebooting it? Have a nice day."
Q: "I can't get this software to work! This is a piece of garbage!" A: "Yes it is. Have a nice day."
But it is interesting, kinda in that Chinese curse way, in that the challenges can sometimes be exciting and difficult. And hysterical callers are also interesting, although not often fun.
My avocation of acting in theatre is ALSO interesting, and were I to find a way to make a living at it, I might well switch.

I work in insurance / finance, though I've been out of the office since February (stroke / pulmonary embolism / blood clots). The most interesting part of the job is the clients - I meet people from all walks of life. The actual work itself is boring, as it should be - if it was interesting, it wouldn't pay as well as it does.

I've enjoyed a career in marketing for the last 20-plus years. I'm from a small valley town in South Wales, but as much as I love it there I've hardly worked there after graduating. My career has taken me to posts in Boston and Dubai as well as across the rest of the UK. I recently rejoined Microsoft and am heading up the UK's social media team.

Writing under the name 'Ian Ravendale' to avoid confusion with another journalistic Ian Penman I interview rock musicians, write articles and review gigs for national music magazines in the UK.

I am in I.T. and work for a general contractor that does conventions around the US. My office is based in the Boston area. I've been doing this for 17 years. Prior to that role I was in graphics for 7 years doing layout, pre-press, printing, etc for convention signage.
I was a certified EMT but found out they don't pay much. I wanted an exciting job that made a difference. Now I help people in a different way (I.T.).
*Great topic. So interesting to find out the different walks of life.

I work for an independent title insurance company as a title agent. We're licensed in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
<blank stare>
Basically, I help clear title issues for people who are either buying or refinancing real estate, as well as doing the closings/settlements. I wouldn't call it either fun or particularly interesting, but it pays the bills. It's a family business, so I get to work with my mom and my brother, which is pretty good. Come December, I will have been doing it for 25 years...

I teach Art (K-4) so I guess I also made my passion into a career. But that's not my interesting job.
I also teach Driver's Education. Currently I only do the classroom portion, but I have done behind-the-wheel training, and I will again soon as my daughters are in my current class, and I'm going to be their instructor (why not? I have to drive with them anyway!).

Like many around here, I always thought I'd become a comic book artist. Until music hit me with a fastball special. So, after some build up and years of learning and making, I'm split between two interlocked careers.
With my company 4'33", we make music for advertising, games, films and whatever needs sound sculpting.
As Fu_k The Zeitgeist, I'm a music producer/composer doing the art thing (like writing and recording a full album of synthesizer pieces based on Alpha Flight).
They're both extremely satisfying ways to pass my days, specially since I work at home and get to keep most of my working hours for FTZ.
