Er, um... what is that Robbie? Looks very cool, though I'd want a Bigsby tail piece and tremolo arm.

I'm gonna get a pic sometime with an old teardrop Vox Phantom like in these photos of Brian Jones (same model).

Rebecca, that image is of an Airline Res-O-Glas (1964). :-)

Strange, exotic and from the '60s? I want one now! I'll take this one (it has the Bigsby tremolo, plus three pick-ups)!

The body shape is reminiscent of Gene's Punisher bass.

Latest issue of GUITARIST is out:

There's an excellent opinion piece on whether it matters where a guitar or guitar piece is made.

Based on this thread, Robbie has more guitars than Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley combined.

At 54 years old I recently decide to learn guitar as a total beginner.

So I went out and bought my first electric guitar (and orange Fender Squier Strat) and practice amp.  I知 taking lessons every Thursday for a half hour and I知 committed to practicing daily!

Ive only had my first lesson so far and my homework is to learn to the open chords E and A and to simply change between them.

The tips of my fingers are numb and I fucking love it!  I致e WORSHIPPED musicians my entire life.  I hold them in such regard that I didn稚 think I belonged in their space.  But it hit me that I致e got fewer years in front than behind so it was time to try.

I figure I値l be 70 by the time I知 proficient!

My life right now?

E..A..E..A..E..A..E..A

And occasionally...E..D..E..D..E..D..E..D

Fingers hurt...and so do my forearms!

I love it.

I recently bought an Epiphone Les Paul and am going through a similar process. Not crazy about the callouses that have built up on my LH fingertips. I play the piano and the callouses just kind of make the fingers feel a bit numb in the tips.

I did mess around with an acoustic when I was in my mid teens, so I already knew the shapes for a few basic chords, but having a lot of fun with the power chords and a little bit of overdrive on the amp.

@Brian....

Yup.  I知 there as well.

My instructor has added C and A minor to my mix.  My task now is to transition from all of them.

I知 really...REALLY clumsy with it.  I知 worried that I値l never find the dexterity!   I try to practice at least 45 minutes a day.  But I like to spend a minute of two just blowing off steam and having fun!  My Strat has a tremolo bar so I crank up the gain and just make the most god-awful/wonderful noises possible!

I wish I had started this when I was a kid.  Damn.
