Aquaman Trailer

Looks good, but I'm not sure how excited I can get. I'm
tired of being burned by DC.

It looks like it could be fun.  I’m no Aquaman fan so DC/WB has a chance to catch my interest cleanly.

will probably be pretty average DC movie fare but the idea of a live action
black manta is fun.

While many of the visuals of the film look impressive, much of the character that I did not like from JL is still present.  I'll reserve judgement until I learn more about the movie proper, but at this point I am unmoved from my position that it's a hard "no" for me.

Too much CGI for me I think. They seem to have to out-spectacle the last one these days or else, and move the camera angle around so much to do so it detracts from following a story sometimes. I like Aquaman's Mom, she looks perfect, and alien-like to us land lubbers.

I would've cast Laird Hamliton! :^)

I agree with Matt. That's still not Arthur Curry's personality.

So frustrating. It looks like a really fun popcorn
action blockbuster. Not only that, it actually has
COLOURS, unlike the bulk of the DC movie output. Of
course the problem, as pointed out many times already,
is that it's not a great representation of the classic
Aquaman.

Laird is 54 YEARS OLD. 25 years ago,
maybe. But then he's never really acted,
either.

If Arthur and Orm switched actors, the whole thing would be pretty well on model.

James Wan can usually be trusted to deliver a solid action movie, and Black Manta looks cool.  I'll probably give it a go.

The visuals are spectacular, and I've liked Black Manta as a villain since
hearing his voce on the SUPERFRIENDS back when I was a kid. That said,
this Aquaman is probably too unlike the one I know and like for me to
enjoy the movie.

I'm glad they resisted the pressure to release a trailer that wasn't ready. Looking forward to this one.

I anticipated it would be visually impressive, but I didn't much care for the
character in JL, so I'm not sure I'll be motivated to see this in the theater

Like JL, I'll probably wait for cable with this one. Not excited for an Aquaman that bears little resemblance to the character I enjoyed as a youth.

I loved most of the trailer, but the SUPER bright red hair on Mera/Amber Head was incredibly distracting.

There was a surfer, one of the Mavericks/Half Moon Bay guys I'm pretty sure, who had a wet suit in the old Aquaman colors. That was so much fun to see! I guess modern people in charge have become embarassed or something by the original uniforms and stuff though, want to make their presence felt... whatever. I remember some min-series where they updated Aquaman with that darker costume but he seemed more a ballet dancer or refugee from a British '80s synth band with some fancy poodle type hair-do (or don't). Meh, too fancy for me. I'd rather have something on screen like an Alex Ross cover.

Other than the hidden city aspect, I honestly do not get the Black Panther comparisons.  Wonder Woman had a similar them in Themyscira being hidden, but I don't recall people saying about Black Panther, "It's Wonder Woman.... in Africa!"

Two heirs, one of whom was raised in the outside world, fighting for control or an ancient, secret, technologically advanced kingdom. One wants to rule it in peace, the other wants to use its technology to wage a world war. That's just what jumped out to me, upon first viewing, although I'm sure there's more to it, which we'll see as in later trailers as it gets closer to the release date.

I haven't seen the Wonder Woman movie, so I have no frame of reference on that.

Good points! Never would've thought of that but it fits.

“It’s Black Panther.....underwater” probably stems from this.....

When I watched that youtube clip a lot of Star Wars prequel trilogy shots seemed to come to mind.

Main difference in AQUAMAN, just base on the trailer, unlike Black Panther, Aquaman doesn't want to rule.  He doesn't apparently care much about his mother's people and wants to be left alone.  It might be somewhat similar to Black Panther, just like Star Wars and Star Trek are similar because they show battles in space....

Except for the Momoa Aquaman--or AquaKhalDrogoMan, as I like to call him--that looks better than I would have expected. Still, it's an Aquaman movie without the actual Aquaman.

Also--putting aside how the scene seems to play out in the aquarium, which is kind of cool--they got to an "Aquaman talks to fish!" joke roughly twenty seconds into the trailer.

I think I'll pass on this one.

This 5-min. extended trailer looks about as epic as we could have possibly hoped from a live-action AQUAMAN movie.  At the very least, it looks colorful and fun.

Too bad Mamoa looks nothing like the Aquaman I remember.  Not a deal-breaker for me, but man, couldn't they at least have given him a shave & a haircut??
