I third about Ghidorah. I read an interview with somebody involved with KotM who said the monster roars were "iconic" and needed to be gotten right, but I guess he wasn't talking about this one.

I've decided to go see it on Friday. Question -- do we get to hear any Godzilla roars that sound exactly like the (superior) Japanese versions?

Adam, if I remember correctly...

Yes, in one very brief instance, during the Antarctica location sequence (pretty much an Easter Egg).

I liked the movie over all. It kept me entertained all the way through and I'll be buying it on 4K. My only real gripe I had is the time spent on the humans as the monsters fought. It felt like every time the monsters started throwing hands, they immediately cut to the humans. The first time Godzilla clashed with Monster Zero was a WTF moment for me when it cut to the humans in the helicopter crash.

What Jason said. I just saw the movie a few hours ago. I enjoyed it. The human drama wasn't exactly compelling but I didn't have any "oh my god this is awful" reactions from it.

The monsters looked great, Godzilla included. I appreciated some of the "easter eggs." I do wish Mothra had gotten more screen time. (And at some point, in a future movie, some explanation as to how she and Godzilla became "pals.")

I was thinking of taking my 7 year old daughter to see this. Is it too scary, intense or long for a 7 year old? She saw the previous Godzilla movie and was ok with it.

I finally managed to catch an evening showing on Father's Day.

I fully agree that the human characters were not very well crafted and tended toward being cliches. But they were basically there just to move the story forward so that we got to the confrontations between Godzilla and Ghidorah, with some occasional comic relief. No one goes to a movie like this expecting to see any Oscar caliber performances out of the human cast.

The CGI and monster battles were very impressive, which made it worth the cost of the ticket and popcorn for me. The sequence where Monster Zero breaks out of the ice and runs into The Big G was quite eye-popping. Certainly it was the best CGI that I have seen since I checked out Kong: Skull Island on Blu-Ray last year.

I was sorry to see Watanabe's character killed off, but it looks as though he has handed the baton to Kyle Chandler for the next big monster movie in 2020. If the quality of the CGI is maintained, it should be a fun time for monster movie fans at the cinema.

Vishard, if your daughter was okay with the first film, I would think she'd be okay with this one. As for being too long, this one has more monster fights and such, so it should hold a kid's interest more than the first.

Just caught a matinee...literally had the whole theater to myself. Reed echoed
my thoughts almost exactly.

A note to those of you with money burning a hole in your wallet...

The SH Monsterarts 2019 Godzilla figure has been getting very, very positive reviews from all corners. None of the usual quality control problems associated with that brand.

I won't be getting one myself -- nowhere to put it! -- but I've seen it, and it does look very, very good.

Didn't pick up the S.H. Monsterarts
figure, but did get the Neca one of
Godzilla and mothra. Both are pretty
amazing. Looking forward to Rodan and
Atomic breath Godzilla. Really upset Neca
isn't making a King Ghidorah figure. They
claim the figure would be too pricey at
$125.00. That's nothing compared to the
S.H.Monsterarts one that had a preorder
price of $175.00 and is already fetching
up to $300.
