He's been on a lot of telly over here in America saying this, sometimes with his daughter at his side, that he's really done with England, but here's a BBC bit from a little earlier in the month I thought was pretty fun...

He sets November as the time from which he will take up residency in the Carribean

Not connected but for John Cleese... I tried watching this tonight, but it's something most people might want to skip through to the Cleese bits, he mentions Peter Cook once saying Cook was more interested in the question of whether there was sex after death...
Is There Life After Death? moderated by John Cleese:

Very long with anecdotal stories, and at some point Cleese says skeptics should "read the literature". I've read a lot of the literature since Omni magazine got me interested circa 1984, and it is really slippery to pin much about the people having these great revelations down honestly; so often it comes down to a third person told someone type of scenario, but I am all for applying scientific standards to this stuff and not just taking someone's (even a PHD's) word for things all the time, nor dismissing it as can't be no matter how far I lean this way.

Loved that interview referenced in the original post.  Absolutely loved it.

Good for Mr. Cleese, to vote with his feet. But the problem with the island paradises, pointed out to me by an acquaintance who ran a resort, is the Third World level health care. Sooner or later Cleese might have to go back home or the U.S. for an emergency.

Like a lot of celebrity threats along these lines, i`ll
believe it when i see it! Also, yes Joe, he`s no spring
chicken, the NHS may have it`s detractors, but it does
the job.

What happened to the NHS cutting off ex-pats... in Spain I'd heard I believe. Heard noises about it on the BBC World Service but didn't manage to find out more over here. These fights with tax exiles and various ex-pat communities are at a level well above anything I'll likely be part of. Here we have or had Canadians with property in Baja, Mexico who'd return for health care which was still fairly sketchy down there.

Anyone who enters the UK will be treated free on the
NHS(Unlike other countries where you need to flash your
credit card first). There is some talk of recouping costs
but nothing is in place.

Cool, thanks for the info Bill. I'm sure Cleese would probably be able to pay in the closer U.S. if/when he has a health emergency in the Caribbean, but I have a sad final image of someone taking what he says as jokes and laughing while he expires... he'd say "my brain hurts" and they think he was entertaining with one of those 'Gumby' braces and handkerchief-on-head characters, or if he was upset they'd think he was 'doing' Basil Fawlty. :^(
