M. Night Shyamalan is a frustrating director. He is talented and quite skilled at generating suspense but normally squanders any good will he builds up in a movie by pushing the entire narrative towards a usually silly twist ending. I would have really liked to have seen him direct movies with scripts that he had nothing to do with.

That being said, I thought that Split was pretty good, (with a lot of credit for that going to James McAvoy) although it stretched credibility towards the end.

Not sure about MR. GLASS, I will wait for initial reactions from others before I decide if I want to see it.

I walked away from the end of Unbreakable wondering - did Glass discover Dunn, or did Glass create Dunn through his own actions?

I was a Shyamalan fan until LADY IN THE WATER, which was terrible and was the last thing I paid money to see.  I liked UNBREAKABLE.  Saw SPLIT free on a plane to pass the time and found it only partially effective until the surprise ending, which I'd somehow avoided and which helped.  It's hard to see a Shyamalan movie when you pretty much know there's going to be a shock at the end every time out.  Probably still look in on GLASS eventually when it comes to cable, but by then I'll probably have heard about whatever the latest twist is, which might prevent me from watching unless it's a good one.
