...is on BBC America tonight. Guess I'll watch it even though I have the Blu Ray at the apartment.

Watched a few minutes. Uninspired.

When they take the whole story(and the bits they recreated) into one piece instead of the 4 to 6 parts it was supposed to be it is a weird viewing experience for those of us used to 30 minute classic Who episodes...

Yes!
The last scene was a blast :)

I enjoyed the whole show - was lucky to catch a screening at a local cinema last year. Now have the Blu-ray.

My Uncle bought me the VHS version in 1993 - gulp - 25 YEARS ago!
With Tom 'filling in the blanks' via narration to camera.
(which was later released on DVD, in 2013)

This new version is truly ace tho - Tom Baker`s contribution, via his new dialogue recording, being the ultimate delight of course. So happy Tom was willing and able to revisit the project, and give it closure, all these years later. Wonderful that he`s alive, healthy and working well into his 80s!
(also a huge fan of his Big Finish work with Louise, Mary, Lalla et al - and next season, he gets a new companion....)

Also all the other living actors from the 1979 production returned to record their "missing" dialogue too :)

But also really love the new Mark Ayres score. Appropriately Dudley Simpson- esque :) A delight! And the model work - using 1970s techniques. Also I quickly got used to the animation and think they did a good job with it.

Cheers!

I thought I'd probably stick with the 2013 DVD edition, but it is great Tom Baker is willing to work on such things! I may have to get this too after all...

The Blu Ray is an improvement on the DVD, I don't regret switching out to it...

If you have read the first Dirk Gentily book, much of the plot it taken from the Shada story.
