I'm NOT talking about cover swipes or the fact that artists are influenced by work inspired by others - but I wanted to know what Mr. Byrne thinks about some artist or artists who clearly idolized other artists and all but copied or traced materials they created only to show up in books 20-30 years later. Should this be addressed or is this business as usual? I do NOT think Mr. Byrne is anyone who would do this. But I am pretty sure he knows who does.

Maybe it's a question I should not ask. I think the 90s... the only good that really came out of it is more creator ownership. But some artists just kind of copied others work before and call it original. Did you ever feel this way or is it not an appropriate question? No names requires.

I think you are referring to `Swiping`, there are two threads on the site you can search.
