Despite being a bad film in many ways, SUPERMAN IV: THE QUEST FOR PEACE has a quote that touches my heart when I think about it.

After Superman gets badly beaten by Nuclear Man, his cape is found. Lois Lane, who I *think* may have worked out Clark is Superman, delivers the cape to Clark, who looks very ill, so that it can be passed to Superman. She then "relays this message" to Superman via Clark:

I'd want to tell him that I cherished the time we spent together, and I never expected anything from him. Even if I only saw him for a few moments, it made me happy. And I'd want to tell him that I love him and that I'll always love him. And...no matter what happens on this world, I know he tried his best to help us.

Whilst we're on the topic, although it's a movie discussion here, I do think Mr Byrne's Superman tenure featured some of the most profound and beautiful quotes at time. I can't describe the exact emotion, but when Superman said, "It was Krypton that made me Superman, but it is the earth that makes me human", I felt what I can only describe as a beautiful feeling of awe. I felt a feeling of awe that this super-powered being from another galaxy felt "human" enough to think that.

And when Superman said goodbye to Superboy (ACTION COMICS #591), that was another heart-touching moment.

At the end of Batman Begins, between Jim Gordon and Batman.

"I never said thank you."

"And you'll never have to."

My favorite line in "Infinity War" was Vision saying to Scarlet Witch, "You could never hurt me."

Jor-El to Clark in Superman the Movie:

"They can be a great people Kal-El, they wish to be. They only lack the light to show the way. For this reason above all, their capacity for good, I have sent them you. My only son"

For me, nothing will ever beat:

"Who... are you???"

"A friend."

Meeting Peter Parker without yet another origin story, Uncle Benís death still hits like a sledgehammer:

Tony: Why are you doing this, huh? What's your MO? I've got to know, what gets you out of that twin bed every morning?
Peter: Because... because, I've been me my whole life, and I've had these powers for six months. I read books, I build computers, and I would love to play football, but I couldn't then so I shouldn't be able to now...
Tony: Right, because you're different
Peter: Yeah, but I can't tell anybody that, so I'm not...When you can do the things that I can, but you don't, and then the bad things happen? They happen because of you.

"And you'll never have to."

A perfect moment.

Until you realize Gordon would never have to thank him because he'd spend the next two movies mostly trying to quit being Batman.

OK, I'm being silly, but...

"Dormammu, I've come to bargain."

"Dormammu...I've come to bargain."

"Dormammu! I've come to bargain!"

Also, Tony Stark in IRON MAN (2008):

"Give me a scotch, I'm starving."

Stark still isn't an alcoholic in the MCU, and thank god.

(OK, that's clever but not beautiful. But it's beautifully clever.)
