I find it hard to resist well-rendered dinosaurs on a huge screen, so I finally caught this at a matinee. Without going into details..

What I liked: Dinosaurs looked great.

What I didn't like: Pretty much everything else.

All of the other films don't exactly approach high art, but this particular entry is D-U-M, dumb.

The people that populate ‘The Jurassic World Universe’ must be the dumbest bunch of collected humanity fiction has EVER created.

The Jurassic World franchise seems to be about people repeating the mistakes made in the Jurassic Park movies, but bigger.

That's my biggest problem with the movies.

Have you ever wondered why John Hammond thought making hundreds of dinosaurs was a good idea....when one would have been just as spectacular and far more valuable?

The point they were making in the first movie was that they were creating dinosaurs without really thinking about the consequences of doing so. It's very easy to see how Hammond & crew fell into the trap of "We did it!.... Let's do it again!".

You have to agree the very last moment can have a very
specific potential direction for the next ( and
hopefully last one ! )
The sensation of " déjà vu " is growing fast...

Saw it today.  Not great, but not the worst movie I've seen.  Pretty much standard summer blockbuster popcorn fare.  I enjoyed parts of it, was bored by others and could see nearly every plot point a mile away.  I liked it for what it was, but then again I wasn't expecting too much.

For that matter, why limit the park to dinosaurs when there were so many species of prehistoric birds and mammals?

Also to nitpick just a bit, the dinosaur DNA came from mosquitoes preserved in amber. So, how did they get Mosasaur DNA?

It's weird how as the movies have amped up the spectacle and bloodshed, they've gotten lamer.I mean, tame velociraptors? It's like they calculated the mathematically least interesting direction to take the species.

Talk about steering 180° away from what makes the character compelling. It reminded me of the end of X-MEN APOCALYPSE, when power-hungry, back-stabbing, human-hating, anti-hero wild-card Magneto... did the right thing and stood with his "friends" to save humanity.

I watched the 1973  "WestWorld" for the first time last year and was struck by how Crichton liked the idea of a theme park run amuck so much, he just did it again with "Jurassic Park."  I didn't expect one their afterlives, however.
