personal knowledge and experiences?

Since the armed forces swear by interchangeable parts, I can't put a lot of faith in anecdotal evidence.

Saw a bumper sticker yesterday that simply read

"NRA: Stand Up and Fight!"

I thought to myself, "Wow, that IS their message..."

Half the guns in this country are in the hands of 4% of the people.

Sleep soundly, America.

OK; at the risk of several things, including belaboring the obvious...  anecdotal? Uh, no. Twenty-four years of law enforcement for a start. Firing tens of thousands of rounds through drills, with parts of the weapon intentionally misfit so as to rapidly strip down, clear and repair it so as to resume fighting for another. Conversations with Armorers in the military for yet another...and I'm hardly an expert,  Some parts are interchangeable, many are not, It's akin to trying to drop a hemi engine into your PT Cruiser. Possible? sure? Likely? nope.

"How often would gun dealers and manufacturers even need loans from banks?"

Generally loans are a good idea for any business as it doesn't force them to give up an immediate cash position for some type of capital expenditure. Also if they are strong in assets and in existing cash position, then a back may be likely to provide a very favorable interest rate. Overall, this could put them into a position for a faster return on investment.

The NRA is the new Religious Right--somehow just disagreeing with their insane views is a violation of their 2nd Amendment rights.
