From 1968 (aged five) I used to get the occasional US comic as a treat and they were always DC. Once I started buying the Marvel UK reprints in 1973 I didn't look at another DC book for at least five years.

I have to say mainly DC, though the first two comic books I started reading regularly were Superman and Hulk.

"In the Beginning", it was a 3 way tie as I happened to start in '75 so Atlas, Marvel and DC got equal time those first few months. By the late seventies Marvel had become the decided favorite, tho I did hang on to a couple DC titles.

I've always bought both. Sometimes more Marvel. Sometimes more DC. I started reading in the mid sixties and didn't pay much attention to the publisher. Batman and Captain America were my favorites. Must be why JB's Batman/Captain America is my favorite work of his.
Currently I'm reading more DC books.

Although I bought both when I was a kid, I was 100% a Marvel guy. Batman has always and ever will be my favorite from DC and I've got a long history reading his comics dating back to 74/75, but Spider-Man is my own personal #1. Titles like MARVEL TEAM-UP introduced me to a host of Marvel characters and it was off to the races. I've never bought as many DC comics as I have Marvel during my collecting heyday.

I loved team up books. World's Finest. The Brave and The Bold. Marvel Team-up. Met a lot of characters that way.

Die-hard DC fan in my youth -- in no small part due to the TV cartoons of Superman, Batman, the Super Friends, et al. Then I discovered a Fantastic Four comic book in high school and the Marvel dam broke...

Marvel pretty much all the way. The U.K. had so much Marvel content available & hardly any DC - I only got DC when we went to the seaside for our summer holidays. But Marvel always had two to three comics come out every week.
So really, it was an availability thing. & then once I started buying actual American issues, DC started to come in - but only in odds & sods to begin with - New Teen Titans, then Batman & then Swamp Thing.

My first comics (Superboy, Justice League of America) and television exposure (Batman, Shazam!) were all DC, but as soon as I found Marvel, I was a Marvel kid and have been one since.
