That’s good because if demand is high they’ll print more copies.

And hopefully Wal-Mart Canada gets alternative covers and everybody's heads explode!

Speculators out to destroy the industry again!
40-50-year-old men driving across state lines snatching up every available copy that was designed to attract new readers.

A comment about the Bleeding Cool article notes: "Missing from article - most of the marked-up ebay listing have zero bids."

Well, the "partnership" with WALMART has been so successful (however that is defined) that DC and Walmart are adding more titles.

Sounds like a bargain.... $4.99 for 100 pages is five cents a page, or $1.10 for a 22 page comic.  Even if there are 20 pages of ads counted in those 100 pages (that's a guess, I don't know), this is still quite a deal as long as the material is good.

I've yet been able to find any of them.  I've checked the 4 different Wal-Marts in my area since they were supposedly released and I can't find the books or anyone at Wal-Mart who even knows what I'm talking about when I ask for them.

Glad to know I'm not the only one.

I support any attempt by a publisher to return to a market with a printed product (whether the product is suitable for the target audience is another matter).

Andy and Brian,

I had the same difficulty at my Wal*Mart; nobody had any idea to what I was referring. I gave up. Then, standing 17th on line at the checkout, I looked over to a display of trading card (baseball, Pokémon, Magic the Gathering, etc.) and there were two boxes -- each about half the size of a box of copier paper -- of DC Comics. Each box held about 40 copies each of two titles.

So don't look near the books or magazines or toys: try by the trading cards.

The second issues have been harder to come across than the first so I just gave up on these. We have two Wal-Marts in my hometown and I haven't seen the second issue of the Batman or Teen Titans ones, although they had some very limited stock of the Superman and JLA ones.
