In your movie collections (assuming you have them, in this streaming age), which male actor (only one) is most represented in the titles you have on the shelf?

For me, turns out to be Peter Sellers, with 13 films total.

Surprisingly, Sean Connery with 8 and Robert Downey Jr with 8. At least that's what I'm coming up with off the top of my head.

Until I counted them I would have sworn six ways from Sunday that it was Harrison Ford, and easily too.

Instead I have found, to my shock, that his total of 14 movies is actually shared with three others. (Sean Connery, Kurt Russell, and Samuel L Jackson.)
I never would have expected these three to match his total, but I guess as Doug says, they do add up over time all right.

I guess I'm going to have to buy another Harrison Ford film to have an outright winner!

I would have to check to be sure, which would be a chore with the number of DVDS I own, but I think a safe bet would be Stan Laurel (I have both his solo films, and as part of a team). I think this would still stand even if I only counted feature length films.

Between some of his stone-cold classics, and some lesser-knowns that came with some DVD box sets/collections that I'd scarf-up on the cheap at my local Costco, I've somehow managed to collect at least 16 different titles starring:  Jimmy Stewart

(17, if you count his guest-turn in HOW THE WEST WAS WON!)

For me, it ends up being Robert Englund at 15 (though not all are 'starring' roles.)

Cory, IMDb lists a total of 70 starring roles for James Cagney... of which you have 63???

Quite the Cagney uber-fan, sir!  :)

Shaun

I also have the only film that James Cagney directed, SHORT CUT TO HELL which was a remake of THIS GUN FOR HIRE. He was a pretty good director as well.

Also, Cagney had a Black Belt in Judo and I read somewhere that he was the first American movie-star to perform Eastern Martial Arts on-screen in BLOOD ON THE SUN (1945)

One hip dude.

All my DVDs are in a box. My Blu-Rays are on a shelf, but provide little statistical grist. I'd have to dig the little buggers out to answer this properly... Now you have me entertaining the idea. Damn you, Byrne!
