I'll ink it if you want, but I warn you, I'm not too good.

Seeing this piece just now made me feel happy, so respectfully, I hope you stay itchy.

My brain sees the claws from Wolverine's left hand coming out the top of the head. Weird.

I think of three inkers... in increasing order of desire:
1) Joe Rubenstein. He did such a lovely job on Captain America... it'd be fun.
2) Joe Sinnott... because Joe Sinnott.
3) Because of the style and nature of this scene... I would love to Jose-Luis Garcia Lopez finish this. I think that synergy would be astonishing.

Mr. Byrne, it's great to see that you still pick up a pencil every now and again. I daresay that you've lost nothing off your fastball... you still amaze.

X-Men was my introduction to JBs work, so this is really fantastic to see.  I know its just an exercise, but there is a depth to JBs pencils that goes beyond even the best inking.  The energy of this piece is amazing - and it doesnt hurt that it features my two favorite X-Men!

I know a guy with a Ferarri in his garage which he rarely drives. He doesn't feel the need, but it's there whenever he gets the urge.

There's a metaphor in there somewhere.

Wonderful drawing! Thanks for sharing!

Funny that Walt was my second choice. Dan Green was my first - he's probably my favorite of your non-JB inkers.

Farmer is also an inspired choice. He'd probably be my favorite if there were more combined work out there.

:-)

Reminds me of when I met Joe Sinnott. We shared a table at a con, and he was doing inked sketches. One fan asked if he could look at the brush Joe was using. Joe handed it to him, and the guy studied it intently. Joe leaned into the guy's line of sight, smiling. "It's not in the brush!"

Heck with the inking! I LOVE the pencil work. Would love too see books on the stand this way. JB's Angel mini was OUTSTANDING!!!! Plus I have nothing against inking, Love it too.
