JB: Dummying up that logo, and extending the fantasy that Marvel is going to publish this, it would be fun if the covers were done in the style of the early 80s, too!

Speaking of covers (and not to sound too selfish!), have you thought of what the cover for this issue would be?

I think I'm like Pavlov's dog salivating whenever I see the late '70s and early '80s Marvel corner box, banners and all that... especially the 'Still Only 35cents' one.The only thing close is those 20cent DCs with the big letters/digits in a white circle.

I'm going to have to make up a 'see Shamu with his Banana shaped walkie-talkie in Star Trek The Motion Picture' back page ad or something! :^|

Or how about O.J. defeats the fruit-stripe zebra through use of hostess fruit pies and bubble yum?

I'm the last person on earth to tell JB something he created is 'wrong', and I didn't.

We're all excited to witness this exercise play out and this topic would be a lot less engaging if JB didn't want a response or feedback for the sake of conversation.

Thanks for sticking up for JB, even though he doesn't need your help. Especially in my case.

That logo is beautiful.

Also, JB, you may not like the "Dave Cockrum Cyclops visor," but you certainly draw it well. (Years of practice, of course.)

One thing I've noticed is that the "wings" on Wolverine's mask look bigger than they used to, even when you drew Wolverine stories in the early '90s. Conscious choice?

••

Not per se. Just something that kind of happened. Perhaps leaning away from that Batman silhouette.

Amazing little attractions in every panel.
I love how you drew Cyclops' visor in panel 3, and Storm's boot tops in 5.
